Launched on 17 October, the new Citroën C3 has attracted a lot of attention for its price, which makes electric vehicles accessible without compromising on style, equipment and comfort. So much so that the new C3 has already received more than 10,500 pre-orders since it was unveiled, which bodes well for its career, especially as it has already won a first award before it has even been unveiled.
In fact, the new Citroën ë-C3 has just been awarded the Ecobest 2024 prize by the Autobest jury. This award, which focuses on eco-friendly mobility, energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact, recognises the new C3 as the most convincing electric car to be launched in 2024. Every year since 2002, Autobest has rewarded the car that received the most votes in each category. For the Ecobest award, cars are evaluated based on green mobility and performance aspects such as range, battery or charging, as well as cost of ownership criteria. The new ë-C3 was then voted on by 31 automotive journalists from 31 European countries and won the 2024 "Ecobest" award.
The Ecobest award confirms Citroën's commitment to offering an accessible electric car that not only meets environmental standards but also meets the challenges of accessibility in the most innovative way. The new C3 is also unique on the market because, at a price of €23,300 excluding state aid, it is manufactured in Europe and has a French engine, while at the same time it is easy to use and versatile, with attractive styling, appropriate equipment and the highest level of comfort thanks to its Advanced Comfort seats and suspension.
The Citroën follows in the footsteps of the Hyundai Ioniq 6, which was awarded the same title in 2023, and demonstrates the relevance of the brand's offer of a 100% electric car with respectable performance in terms of both speed and autonomy, at a truly accessible price, without compromising on the style, equipment and comfort so dear to the brand.
This first recognition for the new C3, preceded by the announcement of 10,000 reservations in one month, bodes well for the commercial launch, which should take place at the beginning of 2024 for the first deliveries, which will arrive by May. The new ë-C3 succeeds the third generation of the C3, which has enjoyed uninterrupted success since its launch, surpassing the sales of the 2CV to become the best-selling Citroën of all time. This latest C3 lineage is therefore enriched with a fourth generation which has all the qualities to continue and even increase this success, the level of pre-orders and this first award allow us to be optimistic.
