After a successful end to 2023, DS Automobiles continues to shine on the Spanish market in 2024, consolidating its position among the premium brands. In the first half of 2024, DS recorded 2,454 registrations in Spain, an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year. These figures give the French luxury brand a market share of 2.5% in a segment growing by 14.4%.
The DS 7 SUV remains the brand's flagship model with 1,553 units sold, an increase of 37.4% compared to 2023. This model, appreciated for its range of engines, has won the hearts of Spanish drivers, especially thanks to its E-TENSE electric versions.
Like Germany, Spain is becoming an important market for DS Automobiles. In Spain, the brand has managed to climb the registration rankings, overtaking established luxury brands. This performance is part of a long-term strategy aimed at consolidating DS's presence in the most competitive European markets. The success of DS in Spain can be explained by a renewed range of vehicles and a particular focus on electrification, in line with consumers' environmental expectations. Olivier Quilichini, Director of the Stellantis Premium Cluster for Spain and Portugal, explains: "The results of the first half of the year are positive for DS Automobiles. With a solid position in the Spanish premium market, the brand is offering a renewed range enriched with hybrid engines, advancing its electrification strategy with technology that complements the E-TENSE range, offering comfort, durability and the benefits of the DGT ECO label without the need to recharge the car. "
A strategy of electrification and refinement
The rise of DS Automobiles is not limited to increasing sales. It also underlines the brand's commitment to innovation and refinement, values that have shaped its identity since its creation. In the first half of the year, DS launched a new collection called "Antoine de Saint-Exupéry", inspired by the famous writer and aviator. This collection embodies the brand's values: refinement, attention to detail, advanced technology and the know-how of French craftsmen. These elements are essential for DS, which aims to offer its customers a unique experience that combines luxury and modernity.
At the same time, DS continues to stand out for its proactive approach to electrification. The E-TENSE models, equipped with hybrid and electric engines, occupy a growing place in the brand's sales mix. These vehicles, which benefit from the DGT ECO label in Spain, offer drivers significant benefits without the constraints of frequent recharging. This strategy aims to address environmental concerns while maintaining high levels of performance and comfort.
