Citroën has the will to make the electric car accessible, true to its origins, where André Citroën wanted to make the automobile accessible to all. In this quest, Citroën is innovating in Germany by partnering with Epimo to offer preferential rates to its electric car customers.

Citroën is developing its range of electric vehicles with today's C4, C4 X, Berlingo and Spacetourer electric vehicles, to which can be added the C5 Aircross and C5 X plug-in hybrids, an attractive range of low emission vehicles that will soon grow with the arrival of new simple hybrid engines, then the new C3 and C3 Aircross. In order to make the electric car accessible, Citroën is proposing to facilitate the transition to the electric car in Germany, in partnership with the electricity supplier eprimo.

The two partners are presenting a 100% green electricity tariff exclusively for the brand's private customers. When buying or leasing a new Citroën electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, customers will benefit from attractive advantages by signing a green electricity contract with eprimo, in particular a price guarantee for the tariff electricity and an immediate bonus for an electric range of up to 750 km.

Patrick Dinger, Head of Citroën Germany, explains: "Citroën is continuing its consistent transformation towards the ë brand and, together with our partner eprimo, is now offering our customers a particularly attractive deal: we are extending our offer to include a pure green electricity tariff in order to increase the use of our electric and hybrid vehicles powered exclusively by green energy."

The new "Citroénergie ÖkoStrom tariff" allows the brand's customers to buy 100% green electricity with a 12-month price guarantee. After signing a contract with eprimo, Citroën customers will benefit from an immediate bonus of €50, a discount equivalent to a range of around 750 km. The offer, which was published online at the beginning of April, applies retroactively to customers who have ordered or received a new vehicle after 1 January 2023, provided that the chassis number is entered in the vehicle registration document at the time of signing the contract.

Katja Steger, CEO of eprimo: "Electric mobility can only be climate-neutral with green electricity. To ensure that every journey remains affordable, eprimo offers all customers of electrified Citroën cars 100% green electricity - easily and above all at low cost. That's the fun of "mobility flipping".

This is an interesting offer which, in addition to well-placed price offers, helps to make the electrified car more interesting and affordable. The electrification of cars can be disconcerting for new owners, who need support to make the transition as smooth as possible, and that's why Citroën Energy is integrating Citizen services in Germany.
