Citroën C3 Aircross: The 400 km electric version arrives, more versatile, from €29 490

The Citroën C3 Aircross in red

Shortly after the launch of the new C3 Aircross, Citroën is not resting on its laurels and continues to strengthen its offer by adding a key string to the bow of its electric urban SUV. Building on its promising initial specifications, the ë-C3 Aircross is preparing to welcome a long-range version that promises to push the limits of versatility thanks to an increased battery capacity and adapted performance to better meet the expectations of a diverse and demanding clientele. This strategic development confirms Citroën's commitment to making electric mobility accessible without compromise.

400 km range for greater versatility

The news is confirmed: Citroën's first compact electric SUV, already available in an attractive configuration with a range of over 300 km, will be joined this summer by a version equipped with a more powerful battery. The objective is clear: to achieve a range of up to 400 km, a threshold that represents a major step forward for an electric vehicle in this segment. This substantial gain of 100 km is not just a figure on a specification sheet; it represents a significant increase in freedom of use for future owners. Equipped with a 54 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery and powered by a 136 hp engine, this version enhances the versatility of the ë-C3 Aircross. The choice of LFP technology is a strategic one: these batteries are renowned for their durability, their reduced sensitivity to 100% charge cycles and their better cost control, advantages that contribute to the overall accessibility of the vehicle. A range of 400 km, especially with the characteristics of the LFP batteries, which allow better consideration of regular full charges and an adapted fast charge capacity, positions the ë-C3 Aircross not only as an excellent second car or city car, but also as the first car in the household. With such a "real" range for everyday journeys and the ability to enjoy more distant excursions, including on the motorway, the brand's electric urban SUV presents itself as a unique solution in its segment to meet all the needs of a family. The 136 bhp of power also provides enough power for easy acceleration and overtaking on fast roads, actively contributing to this feeling of unlimited versatility.

An ultra-competitive price

In addition to its improved technical specifications, the ë-C3 Aircross Long Range stands out for its particularly aggressive pricing. In fact, this promising version is offered for just €29,490. A remarkably affordable price, especially when you consider the increased range and versatility on offer. This pricing strategy is all the more remarkable given that the 400 km version will cost just €2,000 more than the current 300 km version. For a relatively modest extra charge, customers will benefit from a significant advantage in terms of battery capacity and range, representing an exceptional price/range ratio on the market. This positioning is a strong selling point and places the ë-C3 Aircross in a category of its own, making it infinitely more accessible than some of its direct or indirect competitors. The comparison with its counterpart within Stellantis, the Peugeot ë-2008, is eloquent: the latter is priced from €36,000 for an advertised range of 320 km with the same engine power of 136 hp. The difference of almost €7,000 for a superior range on the Citroën clearly underlines the Chevrolet brand's strategy of accessibility without compromising on the fundamentals. This particularly attractive price allows the C3 Aircross to establish itself as one of the most accessible electric SUVs on the market, without compromising on the essential aspects of interior space, versatility of use, sufficient autonomy for different scenarios and modern equipment. This is in line with Citroën's promise to offer popular electric vehicles that are relevant and adapted to people's real lives.

With the arrival of this "long-range" version, the Citroën C3 Aircross is certainly equipped to capture a significant market share and attract an even wider customer base. The target of 400 km of autonomy, combined with an exceptionally well-positioned price, directly addresses the main reservations that consumers may have about electric mobility: limited autonomy and purchase cost. By offering a spacious vehicle with a strong character, technically relevant with its LFP battery, able to cope with all types of driving, and at a price that beats all the competition in its segment, Citroën is making a bold and highly relevant offer. This version has the potential to become not just a "niche" or "second-tier" electric vehicle, but the first car for a growing number of households, including those who would not necessarily have considered an electric vehicle before, due to lack of autonomy or budget. The ë-C3 Aircross 400 km thus reinforces Citroën's position as a major player in the energy transition, faithful to its history by innovating to offer accessible mobility solutions adapted to the needs of the greatest number. Once again, this confirms the brand's pioneering spirit, which dares to shake up the codes in order to put technology at the service of its customers' use and well-being. Customers who wish to order this version will be able to do so before the summer of 2025, marking an important step for the Citroën brand in its electric offensive.
