Citroën: The spirit of André Citroën at the service of an accessible electric range

Citroën's electric range in 2025

In July 1925, André Citroën achieved a remarkable feat by illuminating the Eiffel Tower for the first time, captivating Paris and the world. A century later, the double Chevron brand symbolically returns near the Iron Lady, not to light it up, but to illuminate the automotive market with a wave of bold and accessible electric novelties, from the small Ami to the large new C5 Aircross. A return to its roots that anchors Citroën in the era of future mobility.

The pioneer spirit of André Citroën more alive than ever

Citroën's history is intrinsically linked to that of its founder, André Citroën, a visionary who, in 1925, seized the opportunity presented by Fernand Jacopozzi's project to illuminate the Eiffel Tower. More than just a spotlight, André Citroën saw in it a daring technical challenge, a resounding global impact, and tremendous advertising potential. This unique ability to surprise, innovate, and challenge conventions was not limited to communication; it infused every aspect of his business: production, technologies, style, customer journey, team management. His deep ambition was to facilitate the automotive experience to offer greater freedom and independence to everyone. This spirit, which involved placing technological innovation at the service of daily life and offering popular, people-oriented mobility solutions, has nurtured and continues to nurture the brand for over 100 years. It is particularly pleasing to see Citroën increasingly referencing its founder, symbolized notably by the signature color "André Red" (Rouge André). In 2025, this heritage is manifested by a clear desire to address current societal challenges, particularly the energy transition, by offering an opportune electrification – meaning made accessible rather than imposed – to remove barriers to change for many motorists. Innovation according to Citroën today means electric and connected mobility that is responsible and, above all, affordable.

Citroën 2025: an accessible and diversified electric offensive

True to its promise of electrification for all, Citroën is deploying a strengthened and particularly competitive 100% electric range in 2025. One of the flagships of this strategy is the new ë-C3 200 km. Building on the success of the ë-C3 launched in 2024, which democratized electric mobility with a versatile model starting from €23,300, Citroën is going even further. An even more affordable version of the ë-C3 will be offered starting from €19,990, making Citroën a true pioneer of accessible electric hatchbacks produced in Europe. Equipped with a 30 kWh LFP battery and an 82 hp motor, it will offer a range of 200 km, ideal for daily urban and peri-urban journeys, with an optional 30 kW fast charge.

The ë-C3 Aircross, the brand's first electric compact SUV, already available with a range of over 300 km, will see its capabilities extended in 2025. A new 54 kWh LFP battery will allow it to reach up to 400 km of range, enhancing its versatility with a 136 hp motor. It thus positions itself as the most affordable and spacious electric B-segment SUV.

A social phenomenon since its launch in 2020, the Citroën Ami has already attracted over 75,000 customers by offering ultra-competitive zero-emission micromobility (starting from €7,990). In 2025, the Ami family is growing and becoming even more fun with the integration of the Ami Buggy version into the range. With its mischievous adventurer look and its zesty Palmeira variant, it invites a fun, leisure-oriented mobility while retaining the accessibility and practicality that made Ami a success.

Finally, for comfortable journeys, the new C5 Aircross positions itself as a "rolling lounge" offering exceptional comfort in the electric C-SUV segment. It will offer remarkable ranges, reaching 520 km with the 73 kWh battery and up to 680 km with the 97 kWh battery. Enough to confidently undertake long journeys in electric mode.

These novelties are accompanied by solutions to simplify daily electric life, such as the e-ROUTES application, a connected assistant integrated into the navigation system that allows users to plan journeys, optimize routes in real time, and locate charging stations. These different models will each be the subject of detailed articles in the coming days. Stay tuned to Passionnément Citroën to not miss anything!

In 2025, Citroën strongly demonstrates its determination to accelerate the energy transition by making electric mobility more accessible and desirable than ever. From the innovative Ami Buggy embodying fun and freedom, to the ë-C3 200km democratizing access to electric, and the C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross offering versatility and comfort for long journeys, the brand provides a concrete answer to everyone's needs. A hundred years after literally illuminating Paris, Citroën proves that it remains true to the avant-garde spirit of its founder: a brand that innovates, challenges market norms with original, fun, and above all, affordable proposals. The future of mobility according to Citroën is electric, connected, comfortable, and most importantly, within reach.
