After being the best-selling brand of electric cars in Spain, Citroën is betting on its electrified range to continue its growth on the Iberian Peninsula and particularly in Portugal, where Citroën is presenting the ëElectric Days throughout the month of February.
Sales of electrified vehicles are growing across Europe as manufacturers expand their offerings. For example, in January 2023, the Portuguese car market saw strong growth in electric cars, which experienced a jump of 134.7% compared to January 2022, while sales of hybrid vehicles increased by 23.5% over the same period. In January 2023, electric vehicles accounted for 26.1% of new registrations in Portugal.
These "Electric Days" are part of the launch of the new C4 X, the only electric model available in Portugal. Throughout the month of February, the brand is offering an EDP mobility card pre-loaded with the equivalent of one year's electric charging at public charging points. Valid for both individuals and companies, the "Electric Days" campaign is part of Citroën's strategy to promote mobility and make it accessible to all.
For private customers who order a vehicle from the Citroën electric range (ëC4, ëC4 X, ë-Berlingo, ë-Spacetourer), Citroën will offer an EDP mobility card pre-loaded with 1,800 kWh, which, at a consumption of 16.6 kWh/100 km and a mileage of 10,800 km, is equivalent to one year's electric charging. For customers opting for a C5 Aircross or C5 X rechargeable hybrid, Citroën is offering an EDP card pre-loaded with 525 kWh of energy.
Citroën has a growing range of electric vehicles, which will be further developed in the coming months with the arrival of the more accessible C3 and C3 Aircross models. The brand is keen to capitalise on public enthusiasm to increase its market share and these Ëelectric days, with a year's free recharging, are an excellent way of encouraging consumers to take the plunge.
