Since its launch, the Citroën AMI has shown that it can easily get out of cities and be useful for a whole range of professions needing soft, clean and accessible mobility. This is still the case with the airport of Genoa, in Italy, which has just taken possession of three AMIs for internal travel at the airport.

As we know, AMI is able to offer innovative and eco-sustainable mobility outside a strictly urban environment, as it demonstrates once again with Genoa airport.

Inaugurated in 1962, Genoa airport is the reference airport for Liguria and Lower Piedmont. In a central position with respect to the Liguria region, it is located just 6 kilometers from the center of the capital and connected to many national and European destinations, including some of the main intercontinental hubs.

As part of its decarbonization strategy for its fleet of motorized vehicles operating within airport infrastructures, Genoa airport has found in Citroën Ami the ideal response to its mobility needs on the apron. Its autonomy of 75 km, its ease of recharging, its speed of 45 km/h perfectly adapted to the limits to be respected on the airport apron or even its turning radius of only 7 meters won over the operators of the airport boasting its maneuverability and agility to circulate on the aprons and park easily in the rest areas.

For Marco Bresciani, Airport Management Manager of Genoa City Airport, “We are particularly satisfied with this initiative, which is part of our program to electrify our operational vehicles, which started a few years ago. Citroën Ami has all the necessary features to meet our mobility needs. By placing three units in our fleet, we can carry out all our daily activities on the airport aprons with extreme efficiency and at the same time contribute to the protection of the environment. »

As required by airport regulations, the three Citroën Amis that make up this small zero-emission fleet have been personalized with high-visibility stickers and reflective lighting. The three vehicles were supplied by the Gecar dealership in Genoa, which has been present in the region for several years.

Michele Montanella, owner of the GECAR concession in Genoa: “We are very happy to have taken part in this initiative and to have been able to satisfy the demand from Genoa airport, a very important customer for us. Citroën Ami represents an innovative and original mobility solution in which we firmly believe and which is increasingly requested of us by an increasingly large and diversified clientele. Among our values are environmental sustainability, care for our territory and satisfaction of our customers and we believe that this initiative represents them all very well. »

Finally, Alessandro Musumeci, Marketing Manager for Citroën Italy, declares "We are proud that Genoa City Airport has recognized in Citroën Ami all the qualities and characteristics necessary to best meet your daily mobility needs. This initiative once again demonstrates the success of Citroën Ami, our revolutionary and unconventional electric mobility solution. A success that is due to its ability to meet the new expectations of micro-mobility, for all types of customers. A characteristic that fully reflects the philosophy of our brand, which has always been attentive to the evolution of society and strongly committed to the process of energy transition towards sustainable mobility, always under the banner of the values of accessibility, audacity and well-being. are at the heart of Citroën's DNA."

AMI was already used by airports, which gave Genoa airport ideas to obtain three copies. AMI thus demonstrates the full extent of its capabilities but also proves that it is very useful for areas for which it was not originally designed.
