New Citroën C3 Aircross: catalogue and prices exclusively for India

The Citroën C3 Aircross sold in India in a blue colour with a white roof, seen from the three-quarter front.

A few days ago, Citroën officially opened pre-orders for its new C3 Aircross SUV in India, a few weeks before deliveries begin on 15 October. For its pre-orders, only the first price had been communicated, but I invite you to discover, exclusively, all the prices of this new C3 Aircross as well as the catalogue.

The range of the new Citroën compact SUV will be made up of three trim levels, similar to what is now offered in Europe with identical names, as Citroën tries to standardise its presence around the world. We thus find the You, Plus and Max versions, but if the number of versions allows the choice, there are no engine variants as only the Puretech 1.2 110 can be ordered, and only with a manual gearbox.

However, Citroën is very aggressive on price as the C3 Aircross starts at less than a million rupees, making it the most accessible compact SUV on the Indian market and even if it suffers from some equipment shortcomings, it is still quite well equipped. The same goes for the higher trim levels, which are also much more accessible than their competitors.

The prices are as follows

  • C3 Aircross You: Rs 999,000 or €11,280

  • C3 Aircross Plus: 1,130,000 rupees or €12,750

  • C3 Aircross Max: 1,200,000 rupees or €13,550

Compared to its closest rivals (Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos or even MG Astor), the Citroën C3 Aircross is a total of 100,000 to 200,000 rupees (between €1,100 and €2,200) cheaper than its competitors which offer a similar engine-transmission assembly (110 hp petrol engine + manual gearbox), which makes the latest addition to the brand much more competitive despite some lack of equipment (automatic air conditioning in particular).

Likewise, the available options are also accessible since the 7-seater configuration (better called 5+2) is priced at 35,000 rupees (€400), while the two-tone roof costs 20,000 rupees (€225) and the vibe pack 25,000 rupees (€280), really accessible prices that allow you to configure a 7-seater two-tone C3 Aircross that remains cheaper than its direct rivals. Enough to seriously disrupt this booming market segment and allow the brand to see its sales progress and increase its market share.

To sum up, Citroën is making a big move with this new C3 Aircross and is not repeating the mistakes it made with the C3, which was less well equipped than its rivals but more expensive. Here, the brand's new SUV is really more accessible than its competitors, with the advantage of being larger and therefore more habitable, offering up to 7 seats and having Citroën's strong point, namely its exceptional comfort. The brand therefore has real hopes of success with this new C3 Aircross, a deserved success, as this new SUV seems to have so many qualities in view of the tests carried out by the Indian press.
