After its presentation in September 2022, the Citroën oli concept will continue its tour of European events by taking part in Milan Design Week from 17 to 23 April 2023. This will be the first public appearance of the oli concept in Italy.
Citroën returns to the colourful hubs of the Fuori Salone and the Design Districts to reaffirm its position as a protagonist of functional electric mobility and innovative, sustainable design. Citroën's vision of electric mobility, radically different from its competitors. Citroën's roadmap, oli, is a bold and multifaceted manifesto, full of smart and pragmatic ideas, focused on reducing weight and complexity to maximise efficiency, versatility and accessibility. It is a guiding principle that replaces the tendency towards "more" with the positive approach of "enough", or rather: "how much is needed".
Rossana Orlandi, an internationally renowned collector of design galleries, recognised by the design world as a true discoverer of new talent, immediately understood and appreciated the vehicle's modern character and original design. A true reference in Milan, the city for which she is an ambassador for design, she had already collaborated with Citroën last year on the "Les AMIs de RO" project, which was a great success: on this occasion, the Citroën AMI played the role of inspirational muse for five internationally renowned designers, who reinterpreted it by offering a personal creative version of the vehicle. This is the second consecutive year that the French brand has partnered with the famous gallery.
Thanks to its radical, responsible and optimistic approach to mobility, Citroën Oli is also on the shortlist for the RoPlastic 2023 Prize, the flagship event of the "RoGUILTLESS PLASTIC 2023" project manifesto, organised by Rossana Orlandi and her daughter Nicoletta Orlandi to raise awareness and involve the design community in recycling, reusing and recovering materials for more responsible and sustainable production. Citroën Oli, in the running for the Emerging High Technology category, and the 193 other finalists will be the protagonists of a collective exhibition organised at Palazzo Bandello in the RoDistrict. On Tuesday 18 April, an international jury will select the winners, one per category, who will receive a prize of 10,000 euros during the awards ceremony on Thursday 20 April,
The responsible use of sustainable materials is also at the heart of the construction of the stand that Citroën Oli will host at the "RoCOLLECTIBLE 2023" exhibition. The stand is made entirely of sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials: the floor is made of shock-resistant recycled rubber and the graphic panels are made of printable recycled cardboard.
Obviously, Oli has been a great success for Citroën and the brand has not stopped talking about it because this concept, with its audacity and non-conformism, is in the DNA of the brand. This second partnership with Rossana Orlandi also shows how Citroën, after a stunning AMI, can inspire the design world with an equally original concept, showing that design is not just for the elite, but can be accessible to everyone.
