Citroën unveiled the C3 electric car at the end of January and made prices public at the end of February. Determined to make this a major selling point for the brand, Citroën took part in the first ever rally for electric vehicles organised by one of the largest associations of chambers of commerce in India, which took place on 12 March.
The competitors covered a total of 100 kilometres, which took them from the Cyber Hub, PHD House to the Heritage Transport Museum in Gurugram. The drivers of the three Citroën C3s that were entered were therefore in the company of around thirty other vehicles in this first rally for electric cars.
The three Citroën crews finished the rally in the first three places, demonstrating the efficiency of the brand's latest creation and allowing it to take the lead over its competitors, which bodes well for the commercial future of this very first ëC3.
Saurabh Vatsa, Director, Citroën India, said: "We are delighted to have participated in the first ever PHDCCI EV Car Rally in India and to have won the top three positions. This underlines the technological prowess of the new Citroën Ë-C3 All-Electric, which combines state-of-the-art range and ideal performance. We are grateful for this opportunity and believe that such gatherings are the way to spread awareness of electric vehicles in India".
Priced from 1,150,000 rupees or 13,000 euros, the new electric Citroën C3 completes the C3 range in India, which previously consisted of two petrol engines.
