After the countless special editions of the C5 X in China, after the C5 X Pallas, here is the new big Citroën that pays homage to the CX with aesthetic and technical modifications that bring the two big Citroëns closer together and give the C5 X a new pace.
Aesthetic modifications include a grey painted underbody, the removal of the plastic road surrounds and the rear wheel, which has been streamlined in the spirit of the CX, changing the look of the C5 X. Inside, the C5 X gets a new skin instead of the current one, which again pays homage to and is inspired by the CX. The dashboard and steering wheel are also trimmed in brown leather, while the seats are upholstered in beige leather in the CX's square pattern. The interior of this C5 X is much more luxurious than the currently available version, with leather upholstery from the centre console to the door panels and Alcantara on the roof.
In addition to the aesthetic modifications, the young designer behind this project wanted to get even closer to the CX, so he modified the suspension of the C5 X to use pneumatic damping, which allows the C5 X to be lowered by 10 cm, a true homage to the luxury and traditional Citroën comfort offered by the CX.
In conclusion, the C5 X lends itself well to the game of modifications, allowing it to pass for a super sports car or a large luxury saloon, depending on the owner's wishes. However, this C5 X, a tribute to the CX, makes sense with well thought-out aesthetic modifications that give it a different personality, it is also a sign that customers expect more from Citroën in this segment and that the C5 X, in its original splendour, is perhaps a little too classic, especially inside.
