2023 will be a busy year for Citroën, which has just extended the range of the new C3 in India with the presentation of the electric version and is actively working on the replacement for the C3 Aircross, about which new information is coming from Latin America.

The second vehicle in the C-Cubed programme, the future Citroën C3 Aircross will be codenamed CC24 and, like its little sister C3, will be produced in India for the Indo-Pacific markets and in Brazil for the American countries. Latin America. This second generation of the C3 Aircross will therefore help the new C3 to develop Citroën's sales in these regions, with the aim of rebalancing the brand's sales so that they are less dependent on Europe.

This future C3 Aircross will therefore be available in India and Latin America with 5 and 7 seats, but will also be more upmarket than the C3 on which it is based. So it seems certain that the future C3 Aircross will share the bonnet, headlights and front doors of the new C3, but the rest of the body will be different. Based on the CMP platform, the future C3 Aircross would have an extended wheelbase compared to the C3, tending towards 2m65, and thus in the dimensions of the Peugeot 2008, which is based on the same platform. This long wheelbase will allow it to have enough space in the back to accommodate the 2 passengers in the third row.

As for the engines, the future C3 Aircross should only have petrol engines in Latin America, composed of a 1.6 engine of 113 hp accompanied by the Fiat Firefly engine with a displacement of 1.0 litres and equipped with a turbo to a power of 125 to 130 hp depending on whether it is powered by petrol or ethanol, since both engines will be flexfuel. Both engines can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Similarly, as far as the range of finishes is concerned, it seems that four levels will be offered (Live, Feel, Feel Pack and Shine), thus offering a higher level of finish than the new C3, which stops at the Feel Pack level in Latin America. The future C3 Aircross should be available by September 2023 and will be revealed exclusively in the next issue of Passionnément Citroën, to be published on 10 February.
