Unique on the market, the Citroën Ami meets many other needs than just responding to urban mobility problems. In fact, Citroën's small chip has been chosen by many companies to meet their internal transport needs, such as airports or seaports, including the shipyards of the port of Genova.

It is the San Giorgio del Porto company, which will use ten Citroën Ami units within its naval infrastructure. Founded in 1928, San Giorgio del Porto is a shipyard active in the ship repair and transformation sector, a leader in Europe and a world reference in the repair, transformation and disposal/recycling of ships. The shipyard is part of the Genova Industrie Navali group and employs around 180 people, including naval architects, mechanical engineers, skilled workers and emergency response teams.

As part of a modernization plan for its fleet of motorized vehicles and energy transition, aimed at reducing emissions and adapting the activities of the shipyard to environmental priorities, San Giorgio del Porto has found in Citroën Ami the ideal response to their mobility needs. In concrete terms, the staff will use the ten Citroën Amis to move around the area dedicated to ship repairs, mainly between the headquarters, the docks and the dry docks where the ships are being repaired.

The characteristics of the Citroën Ami make it the ideal solution for the shipyard's needs. For San Giorgio del Porto, this investment is part of a medium- to long-term plan that is perfectly in line with the sustainable vision of the French brand. In particular, environmental protection is one of the priorities and one of the pillars on which the port company bases its objectives and activities, with the aim of reducing emissions in the port and promoting green mobility.

Matteo Garrè, Technical Director of San Giorgio del Porto, explains: "The purchase of ten Citroën Amis is a first step towards sustainable mobility in the Port of Genoa. The purchase of 10 Citroën Ami - 100% electric by San Giorgio del Porto will also allow the sale of certain machines with traditional engines. The ten vehicles were supplied by the GECAR dealership in Genoa, which has been present in the region for several years. According to Francesco Montanella, partner of the GECAR concession in Genoa, "San Giorgio del Porto is a very important customer for our group and we are delighted to have been able to accompany them on their journey towards sustainable mobility in the port of Genoa. Citroën Ami is an innovative and original solution that we believe in and that is demanded by a large and diversified clientele.
