Citroën continues to draw on its rich heritage to inspire the present. Today, the brand with the chevrons unveils a unique special edition of its Jumpy commercial vehicle: the Jumpy Type-H Pack. More than just a super-equipped version, it's a true rolling tribute to the legendary Type H, an iconic vehicle that has influenced generations of professionals and symbolises Citroën's deep historical roots in the commercial vehicle market. This initiative comes a few years after Italian coachbuilder Caselani also rekindled the Type H flame with conversion kits for the brand's modern commercial vehicles, proving that the aura of the Citroën "tube" remains intact. With the Jumpy Type-H Pack, Citroën offers its own interpretation of this heritage, combining evocative design with the technology and practicality of a modern commercial vehicle.
Distinctive style and full professional features
This special Jumpy Type-H Pack range, based on the M (4.98 m) panel van version and also available in a Crew Cab version for greater versatility, not only pays homage to its illustrious ancestor in its name, but also pays careful attention to its appearance to reinforce its unique character. The most striking element is a special decoration on the sides and rear of the vehicle. This screen-printing subtly echoes the corrugated sheet metal pattern, a stylistic and structural feature of the original Type-H, providing an immediate and successful visual nod.
To complete this unique look, Citroën has added the Look Pack. This includes body-coloured front and rear bumpers, sliding door rails and door handles. The side skirts are finished in elegant Perla Nera Black. All of this sits on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that give the profile an energetic look. Full LED headlights and fog lamps are fitted as standard for excellent visibility and a modern lighting signature. Three body colours are available to suit everyone's taste: classic Kaolin White, sober Steel Grey and elegant Titanium Grey.
Beyond style, the Jumpy Type-H Pack is designed for the everyday comfort and efficiency of professionals. The Comfort Pack includes highly valued features such as hands-free access and starting, and an induction smartphone charger that eliminates the need for cumbersome cables. Automatic climate control ensures a comfortable temperature in all seasons.
The driver benefits from a 10-inch colour digital instrument cluster that can be customised to display key information. At the centre of the dashboard is a 10-inch HD touchscreen for the infotainment system. Smooth and intuitive, it controls connected 3D navigation (with real-time traffic information), media, phone and vehicle settings. Connectivity is enhanced with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity.
Safety and driver assistance are also key. Dynamic Surround Vision is a major innovation for a panel van. Thanks to two cameras (one above the left rear door, one under the passenger side mirror) connected to a digital central rearview mirror, the driver has a clear view to the rear and passenger side, even when there is no direct view. For manoeuvring, the Top Rear Vision reversing camera with 180° display on the central screen makes parking much easier. Finally, for added modularity and comfort, the Moduwork Pack (for increased load volume and length), enhanced interior lighting and Winter Pack (including heated front seats and leather steering wheel) complete this particularly generous specification.
Available in electric and diesel
Citroën offers the Jumpy Type H Pack with two modern and efficient engines to meet the different needs of professionals.
The first is the fully electric ë-Jumpy version. It combines a 100 kW (136 hp) engine with a 75 kWh battery and offers a range of up to 352 km (WLTP cycle). This zero-emission version retains all the practical qualities of the Jumpy (load capacity, payload), while adding the advantages of electric vehicles: quiet operation, lack of vibration, smooth driving, access to restricted traffic areas (ZFE) and reduced running costs. The ë-Jumpy Type H Pack is equipped as standard with a 7.4 kW on-board charger (full charge in 11 hours and 20 minutes with a suitable wall box). An optional 11 kW three-phase charger can reduce this time to 7 hours and 30 minutes. At a 100kW public fast charger, it takes just 45 minutes to restore 80% of the battery.
For those who prioritise performance or cover very long distances, the Jumpy Type-H Pack is also available with the BlueHDi 180 S&S diesel engine. This engine is mated to the EAT8 automatic transmission as standard for optimum driving pleasure. It delivers a generous 400 Nm of torque from 2000rpm and offers excellent acceleration. Fuel consumption is controlled and is quoted at 7.2 l/100 km in the WLTP combined cycle (and up to 6.2 l/100 km at high speeds), with CO2 emissions starting at 188 g/km (WLTP combined cycle).
Good news for professionals: orders for the Citroën Jumpy Type-H Pack are now open. This special series will be marketed in several European countries: France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Spain and Portugal. In terms of pricing, the Jumpy Type-H Pack is available from €41,400 excluding VAT for the BlueHDi 180 S&S EAT8 version and from €51,000 excluding VAT for the 75 kWh electric version.
With the Jumpy Type-H Pack, Citroën once again demonstrates its ability to draw on its fabulous heritage to create desirable and modern vehicles. More than just a utility vehicle, this special edition bridges the gap between a rich history, embodied by the unforgettable Type H, and today's professional demands in terms of technology, comfort and energy efficiency, particularly with its relevant electric range.
This approach is part of a wider trend in which nostalgia and 'neo-retro' design are increasingly appealing. By paying homage to one of its most iconic models, Citroën is not only offering a distinctive vehicle. The chevron brand strikes a chord with enthusiasts, while also offering a practical and rewarding solution for professionals. Should we see this as a new direction for Citroën, a desire to incorporate its historical DNA more systematically into its future creations? Only time will tell, but this special Jumpy Type-H Pack range is certainly an attractive proposition that brilliantly combines the charm of the past with the strengths of the present. A great way to celebrate the Jumpy's upcoming 30th anniversary while looking to the future.
