Launched in April, the new Citroën C3 Aircross has now been on sale in India for two months, in a very competitive segment where it has strong arguments. This has enabled it to win its first major award, which represents recognition from the Indian media.
In fact, it was the MotorScribes website that presented its 2023 Auto Awards and named the Citroën C3 Aircross as the compact SUV of the year. According to the site, the brand's latest SUV "is not only functional and fun to drive, it also has exceptional ride quality and a rather captivating design".
This first prize won by the new Citroën C3 Aircross in India clearly shows the qualities of the compact SUV recently launched in the country and should help its career, even though it is entering a particularly difficult segment where many manufacturers are present. The new C3 Aircross is equipped with excellent habitability and comfort, especially thanks to the Advanced Comfort suspension that it is equipped with on the Indian market, which allows it to outperform its rivals. The C3 Aircross is also the only B-segment SUV in India to offer a 7-seater variant, which should appeal to large families and allow it to stand out from the competition.
The new C3 Aircross has recognised qualities, even if it still has some shortcomings, notably the lack of an automatic gearbox, despite the popularity of this type of transmission on the Indian market. The new C3 Aircross is making a slow start in India as, after 224 units sold in October, the month of its launch, the C3 Aircross sold 249 units in November, approaching the sales level of the C3 (283 units). The brand's network is still small, which limits its visibility and therefore its sales volume, but Citroën has always said that it wants to go there gradually, knowing full well that it will take time; we cannot establish ourselves in such a large market in just a few months.
In conclusion, the new C3 Aircross seems to be endowed with remarkable qualities, recognised by all the media, as this first prize testifies. Citroën will have to remedy the few shortcomings in its equipment in order to be able to compete fully and, above all, continue to expand its network in order to increase its visibility.
