Yesterday, Citroën unveiled the new C3, the fourth generation of a car that breaks with the past and with the market, with an electric version that is particularly accessible. And the brand is continuing this breakthrough by opening pre-orders today, the opportunity to unveil the entry-level You version at such an affordable price.
Citroën had a few surprises in store during the official presentation of its new C3, starting with the base price, which the brand had suggested in June at less than €25,000. But the brand has done even better, announcing an introductory price for the C3 You of €23,300 excluding bonuses, or €18,300 bonus, which puts it without competition on the market. With its 113 hp electric engine and a range of 320 km, the small ëC3 is cheaper than its competitors, the Renault Clio and Peugeot 208, both with 90 or 100 hp petrol engines and both starting at €19,600.
This access price does not compromise the technical characteristics of the ëC3, since it offers 100Kw recharging in 26 minutes from 20 to 80% on fast terminals, a sufficient autonomy of 320 km and the best comfort, since the Advanced Comfort seats and hydraulic double stop suspensions are standard. But the brand had not yet released an image of the C3 You, which I invite you to discover exclusively during the opening of pre-orders.
This C3 You is therefore an Access version and does not offer the same interior as the higher Max version, which is the subject of the brand's official presentation. We therefore notice a much simpler interior with, above all, the absence of a touchscreen, replaced by a smartphone support called Smartphone Station. This allows you to place your phone, which is connected via NFC technology? so that you can do away with cables, and automatically launches an application developed by Citroën that gives you access to the navigation system, the media on your phone and which can be controlled via the steering wheel, with sound coming from the car's speakers.
Similarly, in this version, the seats are made in one piece, meaning that the headrests are integrated into the backrest, but they still have Advanced Comfort technology to ensure a high level of comfort.
Finally, we also notice the blue touches on the doors and the dashboard, which loses the Sofa Design covering in the lower part, which gives pep to this less colourful interior than the Max version.
However, if the style of this interior seems less fun than the Max version, the C3 You is not stingy with standard equipment, quite the opposite. Thus, for a price of 18,300 euros, bonus deducted, we find:
Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension
Manual air conditioning
Cruise control with speed limiter
Rear parking sensors
Head-up display
My Citroën Play
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
Active Lane Departure Warning
Speed limit detection
Driver alert
6 airbags
Automatic lighting
LED headlights
Electric rear view mirror
Steel wheels with 16" Pyrite hubcap
Matt black wheel arch
Rear spoiler
One-piece folding row
A level of equipment equivalent to that of the current C3 You, but with the Advanced Comfort suspension and seats not available on the third generation, as well as the 113 bhp electric motor. Invoiced excluding bonus at €23,300, the new ëC3 is already available for pre-order on the brand's website as is the Max version which, for the occasion, reveals its L.O.A price for the first time either 179€/month is cheaper than the current C3 Max* and a great price compared to a Peugeot e208 in Allure finish whose monthly price is 325€. But the C3 Max is even cheaper than the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme, the most expensive model, which costs €248 per month. Clearly, this new Citroën C3 is particularly affordable, without compromising on the standard equipment that should make it a great success.
