January 2023 review - UNITED KINGDOM Car market

As in other countries, the UK car market continued to recover in January, rising by 14.7% to 131,994 units, confirming a positive trend over the past few months. Electric vehicles are the big winners in this situation, with an increase of 19.8% for electric cars alone, which reached 13.1% of the market with 17,294 units.

In this context, sales of :

  • ABARTH are 11 units

  • ALFA ROMEO 25 units

  • CITROËN were up 45.27% to 2,397 units, giving a market share of 1.82%.

  • DS were down 19.11% to 254 units for a market share of 0.19%.

  • FIAT rose 32.76% to 1,763 units for a market share of 1.34%.

  • JEEP are up 70.92% to 335 units for a market share of 0.25%.

  • MASERATI are 92 units

  • PEUGEOT are down 8.57% to 3,692 units for a market share of 2.80%.

  • VAUXHALL are down 19.99% to 5,250 units for a market share of 3.98%.

In total, Stellantis sold 13,819 units, down 3.38%, with a market share of 10.47%. Citroën is therefore performing better than Stellantis and, as the market makes up for the declines of previous months, the brand is once again ahead of Dacia (1,910 units +3.08%).
