The future Citroën C3 Aircross continues its development tests before its next revelation. The second vehicle in the C-Cubed range, which will join the C3 in developing the brand's sales in Latin America, should be available with two engines at launch.

Like the C3, the new C3 Aircross would be offered with two petrol engines, the 1.0 Firefly and the 1.6 THP, which is well known from PSA models in Brazil. However, due to its higher weight and above all its ability to carry 7 passengers, the C3 Aircross would logically be more powerful. Therefore, the 1.0 Firefly engine will be turbocharged to deliver 125 bhp on petrol and 130 bhp on ethanol, as the C3 Aircross will be bi-fuel as standard in Brazil, just like the C3. As for the 1.6-litre engine, it would deliver 113 bhp in petrol and 120 bhp in ethanol, the latter mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

Two similarly powerful engines for the future C3 Aircross, although the 1.0 Firefly has a slight advantage in that it produces its maximum power at a lower engine speed (5,750 rpm as opposed to 6,000 rpm for the 1.6), which should make for better fuel economy.

The future C3 Aircross will share many elements with its little sister C3, but it will also stand out by being much longer, with a length between 4m30 and 4m40, the wheelbase should be greater than 2m60. Finally, while the C3 has relatively small rims, the C3 Aircross will have 17-inch wheel arches, which should help to improve the balance of the car.
