At the next Rétromobile show, which will open its doors on February 1, DS automobiles will give a demonstration of performance with four models on display, including two technological laboratories that demonstrate the brand's vocation for performance.
SM PROTOTYPE (1973)
A rolling test stand, this prototype was designed to test the passage of high tractive forces and the stability of the track at high speed. The SM PROTOTYPE's controls and measuring instruments make it possible to correct the set-up or modify parameters such as the centring of the masses, the flexibility of the suspension or the distribution of the roll during the ride. This 340 hp prototype has been used to develop competition models based on the Citroën SM.
DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE (2022)
Designed as a high-performance laboratory, DS E-Tense Performance was conceived by DS Performance after winning two drivers' titles and two team titles in the Formula E championship. During its first test campaign, DS E-Tense Performance has already covered more than 3,000 kilometres and validated a 0 to 100 km/h in 2.0 seconds. The powertrain is made up of two electric motors with a combined output of 600 kW (250 kW at the front and 350 kW at the rear), or 815 hp during acceleration and recovery, and a torque of 8,000 Nm at the wheels. Directly derived from DS Performance's developments in Formula E, these two electric motors offer exceptional performance.
DS 21 PALLAS ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION (1970)
A benchmark for a century of motoring, the DS created a legend when it first appeared in Paris in 1955. Revolutionary in its design, it introduced many technologies, including hydro-pneumatic suspension, power steering, hydraulic control of the transmission, braking assisted by disc brakes at the front and a steering pivot in the axis of the wheels. First launched with a 75 bhp engine, the DS became increasingly more powerful. In September 1969, it became the first French production car to feature electronic fuel injection, giving it 139 bhp from a 2175 cc engine and a top speed of over 185 km/h.
DS 9 E-TENSE 4x4 360 (2022)
The DS 9 exploits the excellence of French luxury know-how with an exclusive interior designed and crafted by the men and women of the Colours and Materials team and the upholsterers of DS Automobiles, based in the Paris region. Converted in France by the DS PERFORMANCE teams, the DS 9 E-TENSE 4x4 360 represents the very best of DS Automobiles technology. With a 200 hp PureTech petrol engine coupled to two electric motors of 81 kW (110 hp) at the front and 83 kW (113 hp) at the rear, as well as specific settings, the DS 9 E-TENSE 4x4 360 offers top-class performance (0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, 1,000 metres D.A. in 25.0 seconds).
As part of the close ties established since the creation of DS Automobiles, four clubs dedicated to DS and SM models will be present alongside the brand throughout the Retromobile Show: Euro SM Club, DS-ID Club de France, ParIDS and Amicale DS.
