A few days ago, DS Automobiles celebrated the legacy of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, an emblematic figure of aviation and literature, with an exclusive collection of vehicles. Entitled "Antoine de Saint-Exupéry", this collection pays tribute to the author and aviator on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of his death, and is part of DS's desire to combine travel and art.
A refined collection full of adventure
The Antoine de Saint-Exupéry collection, available on the DS 3, DS 4 and DS 7, is characterised by a refinement and elegance reminiscent of the world of the famous author. A new, unique colour called "Vol de Nuit" adorns the models in the collection. This pearlescent paint with subtle golden reflections evokes the beauty of a starry sky at dawn, inviting you to daydream and escape.
For its part, the interior immerses the occupants in the atmosphere of the first aviators. Warm and durable Criollo Brown Nappa leather covers the seats and trim, while unique embroidery on the dashboard evokes the resistance of an aircraft in flight. Interior and exterior badges and door sill plates complete the collection's exclusive signature. These decorative elements include quotes and drawings inspired by Saint-Exupéry's work, paying a lively tribute to his creative genius.
A magical commercial: The Little Prince comes to life
To accompany the launch of this exceptional collection, DS Automobiles has produced a highly poetic commercial. Under a starry sky, the Little Prince, an emblematic character in the work of Saint-Exupéry, drives a DS 7 from the collection of the same name in search of his guiding star. An enchanting soundtrack inspired by Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune" accompanies his dreamy journey.
Along the way, the Little Prince discovers that his star is none other than his creator, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry himself. A magical encounter between fiction and reality ensues, celebrating the author's boundless imagination and his ability to transport us to extraordinary worlds.
Filmed in the Moroccan desert, over which Saint-Exupéry once flew, this commercial is entirely in keeping with the world of the famous aviator. The actor playing the Little Prince is none other than Saint-Exupéry's son, adding a unique emotional dimension to the story. Subtle references to the author's work, such as the appearance of a fennec (which replaces the fox in the story) or the rose so dear to the Little Prince, enrich the visual experience.
A tribute to the spirit of discovery and the beauty of travel
"The spirit of discovery is something that DS Automobiles and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry share," says Olivier François, Director General of DS Automobiles. "The story of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is full of inspiration, he was a poet and a traveller. These are two aspects that resonate with our brand".
More than just a collection of vehicles, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Collection is a true invitation to travel, discover and wonder. It celebrates the legacy of an exceptional man who, through his writings and his exploits, knew how to inspire us to dream and to push the boundaries of the impossible.
