Last September, DS Automobiles surprised everyone by unveiling a Citroën SM tribute concept at the Chantilly Concours d'Elegance to celebrate DS's 10th anniversary. Immediately, rumours of a production version of this concept began to circulate, fuelled by Thierry Metroz's speech. What if this homage to the SM became a reality?
Although there is currently no defined project in the DS product plan for the series production of the SM Tribute concept, the latter was conceived for series production by building on an existing technical base, which would allow a relatively easy transition to series production without requiring too much investment.
And it seems that DS really wants this SM Tribute to become a reality, because on the occasion of the presentation of the DS N°8, the DS design director presented the concept tribute to the Citroën SM to the teams of La Revue Automobile, dropping a very interesting piece of information. I suggest you discover the video shot in the ADN studios:
Thierry Metroz therefore points out that the SM Tribute is built on a platform that appears to be a Maserati, and everything suggests that it is that of the Folgore, which would therefore make it possible to offer an SM powered by a large V6 petrol engine of almost 550 bhp, or even an electric version of almost 760 bhp. In order for this to become a reality, I invite you to support the petition that calls for the mass production of the SM Tribute concept, which would top the DS range of cars by appearing above the brand new number 8, here is the link to sign the petition:
In conclusion, it seems that DS is really ready for a mass production of the SM Tribute concept and the brand is waiting to see if the public follows this approach and shares the will. I also invite you to sign and spread the petition created by La Revue Automobile so that this concept can become a reality.
