Citroën's success on the Spanish electric car market

There is no doubt that Citroën has made a breakthrough on the electric car market in Spain since the beginning of the year, thanks in particular to the C4, which is the fourth best-selling electric car, but also to the Berlingo, which is doing well.

In the first four months of the year, Citroën ranked second on the overall electric vehicle market with a market share of 9.5% and 1,251 registrations, an increase of 177% compared to the same period last year. With 815 registrations, the Citroën ë-C4 achieved a market share of 5.8%. Finally, the Citroën Ami is the market leader for electric quadricycles with a market share of 92%.


Citroën is not to be outdone in the field of electric commercial vehicles: with 834 registrations since the beginning of the year and a market share of 24.2%, the brand, led by the ë-Berlingo, is in first place in this market, an increase of 638% compared to last year.

On the overall market, Citroën has achieved 20,127 registrations of cars and commercial vehicles on the total market (thermal + electrified) and a penetration of 5.6% since the beginning of the year. The best-selling model is the C4, with 3,644 registrations and a 14.1% share of the segment, making it the leader in its category. In the D-segment sedan category, the Citroën C5 X leads its segment with 554 cumulative registrations and a penetration of 17%, while its plug-in hybrid version has a market share of 24.2% in its category.

On the commercial vehicle market, the Citroën Berlingo is the market leader with a penetration of 16.1%. A performance that can also be achieved in the electric commercial vehicle market, with a market share of 32.6% in its category.
