The Berlingo is a very important vehicle for Citroën in Japan, accounting for almost half of the brand's sales in the country. Following the launch of the long version of the Berlingo with 7 seats, Citroën is now presenting a special series called Trico, which pays homage to France.
The Citroën Berlingo Trico was unveiled on 14 February and is based on the high performance version, personalised with the colours of the French flag. The Berlingo Trico adapts its theme to the three body colours offered:
The white body colour echoes the tricolour of the French flag. The contours of the front fog lights are blue, while the air dams are red. The rear sliding door is adorned with blue and red stripes representing the tricolour flag. Inside, the floor mats are finished with blue piping for the front seats and red piping for the rear seats.
The blue Berlingo Trico is inspired by the beautiful lagoons of places such as New Caledonia and Tahiti. The front fog lights have a colour reminiscent of the emerald lagoon of the South Seas, while the air intakes have a beige colour reminiscent of a sandy beach. The rear sliding door is adorned with a blue and white badge and the floor mats have emerald green piping for the front seats and beige piping for the rear.
Finally, the last colour on offer, Gris Platinum, has an earthy hue inspired by the rows of plane trees in the Provence region of southern France. The front fog lights have a lime-lime colour and the air bumps have a colour reminiscent of the autumn leaves of a rich oak tree. The interior floor mats have lime piping for the front seats and rich oak piping for the rear seats.
The Citroën Berlingo Trico is offered with a 130 bhp Blue HDi 1.5 engine mated to the EAT 8 gearbox and is priced from 4,200,000 yen or 29,350 Euros. Note that the standard colour is white and that the colours blue and grey are optional for 60,000 yen or €420.
