Citroën continues the European roll-out of the new C3 with the opening of orders in Ireland, an opportunity for the brand to make an important and unique announcement on the European market. For the first time in Europe, the petrol and electric versions of the C3 will be offered at the same price on Irish soil.
A multi-energy range for a personalised transition
With the new C3, Citroën has chosen to offer a range of engines to give consumers the freedom to choose according to their needs. In addition to the petrol version equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo engine of 100 hp, Citroën offers a hybrid engine of 100 hp, which also allows access to the automatic gearbox, and an electric version called ë-C3, ideal for the city, the latter offering a range of up to 320 km thanks to its 44 kWh battery.
With this strategy, Citroën allows everyone to evolve at their own pace towards more sustainable solutions, while maintaining an attractive price positioning, faithful to the brand's popular DNA.
An offer tailored to the Irish market
For the Irish market, Citroën has simplified the new C3 range by removing the entry-level You trim level and concentrating on two higher levels: Plus and Max. These trims offer a rich and rewarding choice, making the car even more attractive to local customers.
The Plus trim includes premium features such as LED headlights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Advanced Comfort suspension and seats and 17-inch alloy wheels. The more upmarket Max version adds heated seats, a reversing camera, 3D navigation and a heated steering wheel.
Another distinctive feature is the two-tone roof, standard from the Plus trim level, which gives the C3 a dynamic and personalised style.
But it's the price that really makes the difference: the ë-C3 electric version and the basic petrol model are both priced at €23,400, a first in the European automotive industry. By making electric vehicles financially competitive with petrol, Citroën is positioning the C3 as a game changer in a market that is still often dominated by internal combustion engines.
"We are delighted to announce prices for the new Citroën C3 and ë-C3 starting at just €23,400. This model revolutionises the segment by introducing an affordable and well-equipped offering with a choice of petrol and electric engines at the same price. The price and specification reinforces Citroën's commitment to making electric mobility accessible to all," said Colin Sheridan, Managing Director of Citroën Ireland.
With this initiative in Ireland, Citroën is once again demonstrating its commitment to making electric mobility accessible to all. This positioning is a key step in the brand's strategy to democratise electrification without abandoning its approach focused on comfort and practicality. With this new offer, Citroën is not only shaking up the market, but also redefining consumer expectations, paving the way for a simplified energy transition that is truly accessible to all.
