Following several months of excellent sales results in Austria, Citroën is confirming its strong upward trajectory. The month of September 2025 continues this highly positive trend, once again recording a remarkable performance that highlights the effectiveness of the brand's strategy in this competitive market. This momentum is the result of a renewed product range, relevant electrified models, and growing consumer confidence.
Exceptional results in September
The month of September was particularly bright for Citroën in Austria. The brand recorded an overall growth of 99.6% compared to the same period last year, with a total of 513 new registrations across all segments (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles). This near-doubling of sales in just one year illustrates a significant acceleration of Citroën's presence in the Austrian territory.
Breaking down the numbers, the passenger car segment was the primary driver of this performance. With 302 new registrations, it posted a spectacular growth of +130.5%. This strong increase demonstrates that Citroën's offerings are increasingly appealing to private customers who value the brand's unique blend of comfort, design, and attractive pricing.
The light commercial vehicle sector also showed impressive strength. Citroën confirmed its solid position with 211 units sold, representing a very robust increase of +67.5% compared to September 2024. This success reflects the trust that professional clients place in the brand's mobility solutions, which are renowned for their reliability and versatility.
Stephanie Haider, Managing Director of Citroën Austria, commented on these excellent figures: “The excellent results in September confirm that Citroën is on the right track in Austria. With our modern model range, which combines design, comfort, and electrification with an attractive price-performance ratio, we are meeting our customers' current expectations for simple, comfortable, and affordable mobility. I would also like to thank our dealer partners, who have contributed to this success with their tireless commitment.”
A renewed range and innovative services for a promising future
These outstanding results are built upon a fully renewed and electrified product lineup designed to meet the diverse needs of Austrian customers. Recent launches, such as the new Citroën C3 and its all-electric version, the ë-C3, the versatile C3 Aircross, and the C4 and C4 X crossovers, are at the heart of this positive momentum. The recent introduction of the ë-C3 Urban Range, a variant offering up to 212 km of range, makes electric mobility even more affordable and facilitates the transition to e-mobility for many more drivers.
The future looks equally promising with the imminent arrival of a strategic new model. In November, the new Citroën C5 Aircross will be launched in Austria. Built on the new STLA Medium multi-energy platform, this SUV will represent a significant technological leap forward. It will offer maximum flexibility with a choice of electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, combining the brand's iconic comfort with state-of-the-art technologies. This new vehicle is expected to help Citroën attract a new customer base, particularly professionals and corporate fleets seeking modern and efficient mobility solutions.
To bolster consumer confidence and underscore the reliability of its vehicles, Citroën has also introduced an ambitious warranty program. The Citroën We Care program offers 8 years or 160,000 km of coverage on essential vehicle components, such as the engine and transmission, for all new registrations since January 1, 2025. This initiative sends a powerful message to the market, proving the brand's commitment to quality and providing peace of mind for its customers.
The month of September 2025 fits perfectly into the excellent trend that Citroën has been experiencing in Austria for several months. Far from being an isolated success, this performance confirms the relevance of the brand's product and commercial strategy. With a fully renewed and electrified range tailored to current expectations, along with the highly anticipated arrival of the new C5 Aircross, Citroën is well-equipped to continue its growth. Without a doubt, the future looks even brighter for the brand in the Austrian market.
