Citroën, the leading French automobile manufacturer, continues to strengthen its presence in the Indian market by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with CAB-EEZ Infra Tech Pvt. Limited (Cab-E). This new agreement provides for the introduction of more than 2,000 Citroën ë-C3 into the Cab-E fleet during the course of the year. These vehicles will be used mainly in the Mumbai and Pune regions, contributing to the development of sustainable urban mobility in India.
The first 100 ë-C3s were unveiled at a ceremony in Mumbai attended by Ashwani Muppasani, COO of Stellantis for India and the Asia-Pacific region, Shishir Mishra, Director of the Citroën brand in India, and Kuldip Ghosh and Indraneel Chakravarty, Directors of Cab-E. With these new acquisitions, the total fleet of Citroën ë-C3 on the Cab-E platform now stands at over 300 units in Mumbai and Pune.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director, Citroën India, said, "Cab-E was an early adopter of the ë-C3. Their continued choice of this product confirms Citroën's proposition as a key player in promoting sustainable transport solutions. With its efficient battery, advanced electronic powertrain and comprehensive connectivity features, the Citroën ë-C3 is the ideal choice for companies looking to transition to greener mobility options. "
Third major contract in India
This agreement with Cab-E is the third major contract signed by Citroën in India, following those with OHM and BluSmart. These three contracts bring the total number of ë-C3s to 7,000 units, underlining Citroën's growing commitment to promoting electric mobility solutions in the country. This strategic partnership with Cab-E represents a major step forward for the brand in the field of electric urban mobility in India, in terms of its visibility in the country.
Kuldip Ghosh, Managing Director, Cab-E, commented: "The integration of Citroën ë-C3 electric vehicles into our fleet accelerates our path to profitability. Superior battery efficiency, powerful drivetrain and excellent interior features, combined with fast charging capabilities, ensure immediate operational benefits. This partnership not only benefits both parties, but also puts Cab-E at the forefront of the electric urban mobility market. "
An efficient and ecological solution for electric mobility
The Citroën ë-C3 is slowly making its mark on the electric vehicle market in India. With a range of 320 km (ARAI certified) and equipped with fast charging technology, the ë-C3 can be charged from 20 to 80% in less than an hour, which is valuable for this type of operator. In addition, its spacious interior and large load capacity meet various logistical needs, ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly transport solutions.
Citroën's strategy to develop sustainable and innovative transport solutions is reflected in these strategic partnerships in India. By working with companies such as Cab-E, Citroën is not only helping to reduce carbon emissions, but also improving the quality of urban life through greener and more efficient mobility options, with the aim of making its vehicles more visible to consumers in the vast country that is India.
In conclusion, this agreement between Citroën and Cab-E represents a significant step in the brand's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility in India. With more than 2,000 ë-C3s in the Cab-E fleet, the cities of Mumbai and Pune will see a major change in their urban mobility landscape. This partnership is a clear example of how companies can work together to create a greener and more sustainable future.
