Stellantis reorganises its Management Committee following the resignation of Carlos Tavares

Automotive group Stellantis is undergoing a period of transition following the immediate resignation of Carlos Tavares as CEO. Pending the appointment of his successor, expected in the first half of 2025, Stellantis has established an Interim Executive Committee to oversee the Group's affairs during this period, led by John Elkann, Chairman of the Board.

Interim Executive Committee chaired by John Elkann

The process of selecting Stellantis' new CEO is already underway, led by a Special Committee of the Board of Directors. Pending this appointment, Stellantis has decided to establish an Interim Executive Committee ("IEC") to oversee the management of the business. This committee will be chaired by John Elkann, the Group's largest shareholder and heir to the Agnelli family.

The Interim Executive Committee is composed of the following members, each of whom is responsible for strategic areas within the Group:

  • Xavier Chéreau: Head of Human Resources and Assets.

  • Ned Curic: Responsible for Engineering, Technology, Software and Free2Move.

  • Arnaud Deboeuf: Head of Production and Supply Chain.

  • Antonio Filosa: Head of the Americas (North and South America), Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram and Design in North America, including Maserati.

  • Béatrice Foucher: Responsible for Strategic Planning.

  • Jean-Philippe Imparato: Responsible for Greater Europe, Pro One and the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS, FIAT, Lancia, Opel and Peugeot brands, as well as Design in Europe.

  • Douglas Ostermann: Finance Director.

  • Maxime Picat: Responsible for purchasing, supplier quality and the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia-Pacific, China and Leapmotor International regions.

  • Philippe De Rovira: Head of subsidiaries.

Significant changes in the Group's organisation

This reorganisation marks a break with the Group's previous structure, particularly in terms of geographical and sectoral responsibilities. In fact, the Group seems to want to adopt a more focused approach for each key region. For the Americas, Stellantis has set up a dedicated management team headed by Antonio Filosa, who was previously in charge of North America and will now manage Latin America in parallel. The latter will be responsible for the management of American brands such as Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® and Ram, as well as overseeing design in North America. Maserati will also report to him.

In Europe, the reorganisation places Jean-Philippe Imparato at the helm of Extended Europe, which includes Stellantis' European brands such as Fiat, Abarth, DS, Lancia, Peugeot, Opel and Citroën. Design for this geographical area will also report to Imparato.

Similarly, Maxime Picat will be responsible for the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and India, giving Stellantis a dedicated person at the head of three major regions of the world.

The aim of this geographical division is to increase the Group's responsiveness to local specificities while optimising the management of the Group's various brands.

With this new organisation, Stellantis seems to want to establish a strong and decentralised management, with each region of the world having its own key leader in charge of brands and design. This could allow the group to better respond to the specific challenges of each market, while maintaining a coherent vision at a global level.

Pending the appointment of the new CEO of Stellantis, scheduled for the first half of 2025, this reorganisation of the interim Executive Committee will allow the company to continue its growth and strategic projects. Each member of the Executive Committee will have clear and defined responsibilities, reinforcing the stability of the Group during this transitional period.
