Stellantis makes new appointments

Since the beginning of the year, we have lost count of the number of appointments in the Stellantis Group with regular management changes. This is once again the case with significant changes, particularly in Latin America.

Indeed, Emanuele Cappellano has been appointed Operational Director of Stellantis South America, replacing Antonio Filosa. He was previously the company's chief financial officer for South America from 2017 to 2021, and is currently CEO and director of group strategy and corporate development for North America within the Marcolin Group since October 2021. For his part, Antonio Filosa will become CEO of the Jeep brand, replacing Christian Meunier, who will take a long sabbatical to focus on his personal interests.

Ashwani Muppasani, currently in charge of the China National Sales Company since July 2022, is appointed Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis India & Asia Pacific, replacing Carl Smiley, who has decided to prioritise his personal life.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Christian and Carl for their commitment and contributions which have enabled Stellantis to become the leading company it is today. Circumstances of life make us accept the personal choices of our colleagues, because they illustrate their human qualities over and above their business acumen. I am convinced that Emanuele and Ashwani, as newly appointed Executive Vice Presidents, and Antonio, in his new role as CEO of the Jeep brand, will continue in the footsteps of their predecessors and lead Stellantis to victory in this period of profound change in our industry".

New changes for Stellantis, then, which the group seems to be experiencing rather than choosing, as the two people leaving the group are doing so of their own free will. Antonio Filosa, for his part, is taking over the management of Jeep after excellent results in South America and will have to continue the electrification and development of the American brand.
