Report 2 months 2023 - French car market


Positive assessment for the French market pure its first two months of the year in which it sees its sales increase by 9.1% to reach 238,176 units, but it must be borne in mind that the level remains very low compared to pre-Cavid years. Likewise, the beginning of 2022 was particularly low, which explains the increase known in 2023.

In this context, sales by

  • Alfa Romeo at 523 units for a market share of 0.2%.

  • Citroën, down 23.2% to 17,341 units for a market share of 7.3%.

  • DS up 26.2% to 4,037 units for a market share of 1.7%.

  • Fiat up 4.4% to 4,808 units for a market share of 2%.

  • Jeep is down 8.3% to 819 units for a market share of 0.3%.

  • Maserati is 14 units

  • Opel are up 16.2% to 6,126 units for a market share of 2.6%.

  • Peugeot was down 5.2% to 37,740 units, giving it a market share of 5.8%.

Overall, sales of Stellantis fell by 6.7% to 71,408 units, representing a market share of 30% or against the market. The group is sealed by Peugeot and, above all, Citroën, which literally collapsed in the first two months of the year, leaving the brand permanently behind Dacia.
