New head for Citroën Europe

Laurent Diot becomes Citroën's new director in Europe

The managerial waltz continues at Citroën and Stellantis with the departure of Arnaud Ribault as head of Citroën in Europe. He will be replaced by Laurent Biot, who has been Citroën's Director for Greater Europe since 1st July, with the aim of seeing the brand's sales recover to reach the 5% market share that Thierry Koskas has set himself.

Laurent Diot will report to Uwe Hochgeschurtz, General Manager Extended Europe of Stellantis, and functionally to Thierry Koskas, General Manager of the Citroën brand and Sales & Marketing Director of Stellantis. A graduate of Ecole Centrale Paris, Laurent Diot has more than 25 years of international experience in the automotive industry. He joined the Renault Group in 1997 and has held various positions in sales, marketing, business development and management in various countries and regions: Europe, Asia, China, South America and Africa. He was Managing Director of Morocco before returning to Europe in 2020 as Marketing Director of Groupe Renault France. Previously, he was Deputy General Manager for Sales and Marketing at Dongfeng-Renault Automotive Co. in China and General Manager of Renault Portugal.

Laurent Diot will join the Stellantis Group in October 2021 as FIAT Abarth Global Marketing and Communication Director in Turin, Italy. On 1 July 2023, Laurent Diot will become Director Extended Europe for Citroën.

In his new role as Director of Greater Europe for Citroën, Laurent Diot will be responsible for developing and implementing the brand's strategy across Europe.

Thierry Koskas, Managing Director of the Citroën brand and Sales & Marketing Director of Stellantis, said: "I am delighted to welcome Laurent Diot to the Citroën family. His international career, his expertise in sales and business development are strong assets that are part of our brand strategy. I am convinced that Laurent will make a positive contribution to the growth of our brand in Europe and worldwide".
