New Citroën C3 Aircross: the coupé version continues its tests

The new Citroën C3 Aircross in camouflaged coupe version

We have known for a long time that the third vehicle in the C-Cubed range, developed by the brand to expand into markets in Asia and Latin America, will not be a hatchback but a coupé version of the latest C3. Aircross. The latter has been surprised in recent days, allowing us to see new details.

The least we can say is that Citroën is determined to present this coupé version of the new C3 Aircross quickly, as tests are intensifying and the camouflage is falling away, allowing us to clearly see the changes made to the "normal" version.

It can be confirmed that the entire front section, including the front doors, is the same as that of the C3 Aircross, and that the differences from the central pillar are much greater, starting with the rear doors. In fact, they have a much more sloping line, almost ending in a point that follows the slope of the pavilion. Of course, the entire rear is still very hidden, as it is here that the greatest changes are concentrated, but in spite of this imposing camouflage, it is possible to make out some interesting clues.

If the rear is so hidden, it is obviously because Citroën wanted to make it quite original and we can see it here in particular through the rear lights. If we take a closer look, we can see that they take up the brand's new visual signature, inspired by the oli concept and realised on the new C3 production car, but go even further. In fact, if you look closely at these photos, you can see the two horizontal bars framing a vertical bar, but these two horizontal bars seem to stand out from the bodywork, as is the case with the C5 Aircross since its restyling, with an even more accentuated effect. here. It is easy to imagine the black strip between the lights, and thus the outline of the rear that the brand is so keen to hide.

This latest information therefore confirms our previous illustrations of this future C3 Aircross coupe which will thus enrich the brand's offer in the B segment with a double proposition, volume up to 7 seats and more dynamic and strictly 5 seats with this coupe version. The intensification of these development tests therefore confirms that the C3 Aircross coupe should therefore be presented during the first half of 2024, thus confirming the rate of one new product per year promised by the brand when it entered the Indian market.
