New Citroën C3 Aircross: form meets function

Launched at the end of April, the new Citroën C3 Aircross completes the brand's range in India and Latin America with the aim of developing the brand's sales. The second vehicle in the C-Cubed programme, the C3 Aircross incorporates stylistic elements from the C3 but begins a shift with a much more elaborate and refined style thanks to the teams of Pierre Leclercq who tells us precisely about this new generation of urban SUV. of the brand.

The new Citroën C3 Aircross therefore uses the C3's CMP platform, but takes advantage of these possibilities to extend its wheelbase as far as possible, to 2m67, guaranteeing the excellent spaciousness needed to accommodate the 7 passengers it can carry, a rather unique proposition in this segment.

For Pierre Leclercq, Citroën's global design director, "Citroën's DNA is based on two aspects. The first is that we are, and always have been, a very creative brand. The second is that our customers expect a lot of functionality and rationality. We have a vehicle that is 4.32 metres long, compact, but with seven seats".

The new Citroën C3 Aircross SUV is available in 7 and 5 seater versions, shown in this image.

This class-first concept gives the new C3 Aircross a powerful look, with plenty of presence and status, without resorting to exaggeration or superfluous elements. These characteristics are only possible thanks to the CMP platform, which offers a large interior space and short front and rear overhangs. As a result, the new Citroën C3 Aircross will have a wide 23° approach angle and a more than 30° departure angle. These elements, combined with a ground clearance of 200 mm, offer the customer a real SUV with enough capacity to face the various challenges of daily life in the city and the obstacles of light off-road terrain at the weekend.

The new C3 Aircross SUV arrives on the market with new styling elements such as the rear lights, which are inspired by the Citroën Oli concept. For Pierre Leclercq, the styling of the C3 Aircross aims to "create a contrast between the bold and soft colours of the body".
