The Citroën C3 2025

Electricity for all, that's what Citroën promises with its new C3. After launching an already competitive version priced at €23,300, the chevron brand is preparing to go even further with an even more accessible model priced at just €19,990. A real break with the average price of electric cars, which often exceeds €40,000. While Renault is dangling the idea of an electric Twingo under €20,000 for 2026, Citroën is taking the lead and making affordable electric a reality by 2025.

The ë-C3 200: an imminent arrival

While Renault is making noise with its future electric Twingo, which has been announced for under €20,000 but not before 2026, Citroën is working hard to offer a 200 km version of its ë-C3 from the first half of 2025. Thierry Koskas, head of the brand, has even revealed the name of this version: ë-C3 200. Citroën is thus confirming its commitment to making electric mobility accessible to as many people as possible, once again ahead of the competition, notably Renault and its future Twingo.

From 2025, Citroën will offer the first truly accessible electric sedan in the B-segment, without compromising on comfort or equipment. The ë-C3 200 will be positioned as a credible alternative to smaller models such as the Leapmotor T03 or the Dacia Spring, offering more generous interior space and superior dynamic performance. Citroën is thus paving the way for truly affordable electric cars, with prices below €16,000 for households eligible for the maximum bonus in France. An unrivalled offer that embodies Citroën's ambition to democratise electric vehicles.

200 km of autonomy for everyday use

As its name suggests, the ë-C3 200 has a range of 200 km, more than enough for everyday use. Equipped with an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, it can be continuously charged to 100% without risk of premature degradation, guaranteeing a usable range of 200 km on a daily basis. Given that the average European car drives between 30 and 50 km per day, the ë-C3 200 will perfectly meet the needs of the majority of drivers. This range, although modest compared to some high-end models, is perfectly suited to urban and suburban use.

With the ë-C3 200, Citroën continues its tradition of innovation by offering unexpected cars that shake up the market. While Renault has announced an electric R5 for €20,000 in 2021, with a final price of around €25,000, and has promised a Twingo for 2026 without revealing its characteristics, Citroën is taking the lead and will be the first brand to offer an uncompromising electric car under €20,000 with a real range of 200 km. The engine power should be similar to that of the current C3, i.e. 113 hp.

The arrival of the ë-C3 200 marks a new step in the democratisation of electric vehicles. Not content with mere promises, Citroën offers a concrete and affordable solution. Its launch, probably scheduled for the summer of 2025, will enable it to attract new customers who previously considered electric vehicles too expensive. In a context of strict CAFE standards, the ë-C3 200 should also allow the brand to increase its sales of electric vehicles.
