This is THE big new product from Citroën for 2025 and it has just been caught for the first time during its road tests. The future Citroën C5 Aircross has just started its development tests on French roads and a prototype has recently been spotted, giving us a first glimpse of the second generation of the brand's large SUV.
This first image, taken from a distance, unfortunately does not give us any precise information on the style of this future C5 Aircross, but we can still see that it will be close in spirit to the current generation, a voluminous SUV that should therefore offer a nice habitability for 5 people, since the future C5 Aircross, known under the codename CR3, will not offer 7-seater versions, unlike the new C3 Aircross.
It is therefore still a little early to have some information on the style of this new large SUV with chevrons, at most we can note that it will take up the new visual signature of the brand for the rear lights where we see the two horizontal bars, rear lights that could be very incisive in line with what the brand had proposed on the Oli concept.
The future C5 Aircross will be based on the STLA medium platform recently inaugurated by the new Peugeot 3008, which should give the next large Citroën SUV its engines, all of which should be electrified, from mild hybrid to 100% electric versions.
The future C5 Aircross is Citroën's big new model for 2025, the presentation should take place at the end of the first half of the year and I'll see you in a few days to find out more about this new generation of large chevron SUV, which is important because it is intended to become the brand's future high-end model once the C5 X is discontinued, as the latter has no replacement.
