Citroën and Spain are a great love story that has lasted for many years, to the point where the brand is sometimes considered to be Spanish. It is therefore not surprising that Citroën is regularly chosen to renew government fleets, especially as many of its models are built in Spain.
This is particularly the case for the Berlingo, built at the Stellantis plant in Vigo in both thermal and electric versions, which has just been chosen by the Spanish police to integrate into its fleet. A total of 140 Citroën Berlingo electric vehicles have been delivered to the Special Actions Laboratory (LAE) of the Forensic Police for an amount of more than 5.9 million euros, financed by the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The Citroën ë-Berlingo is a vehicle designed to carry out police operations, particularly scientific ones, and has therefore been adapted to allow the storage of various items intended for the police. These 140 Citroën ë-Berlingo electric vehicles will enable the Spanish police to green its fleet, replacing the old Renault Trafic vans with a vehicle produced in Spain at the Vigo plant, which will have assembled more than 400,000 units by 2022, making it the first car plant in Spain to do so.
The 140 Citroën ë-Berlingo have thus joined the police fleet and will then be distributed to all the higher police prefectures, as proposed by the General Scientific Police Commission, according to the needs of the service and the renewal of its own fleet. where they will soon be put into service.
After the C4, it is therefore the Berlingo that allows Citroën to win this tender, allowing the brand to supply more than 140 units, which will be added to the electric vehicles sold since the beginning of the year, offering Citroën 3rd place in sales in this segment.
