Citroën Berlingo Van leads sales in its segment in the UK

The Citroën Berlingo van, shown here in electric form, is the best-selling commercial vehicle in the UK.

Multi-awarded since its launch in 2018 in the United Kingdom, the Citroën Berlingo Van ends the first half of the year in first place in sales in its segment on the British market. The Berlingo Van, offered in thermal and electric versions, therefore confirms that the awards obtained previously are important in taking the lead in sales in its segment.

The performance of the Citroën Berlingo Van in the United Kingdom in the first half of the year was excellent, as it was the best-selling compact commercial vehicle in the first six months of the year, despite the logistical difficulties encountered by the Stellantis group.

9,916 Citroën Berlingo vans were sold in the first half of the year, placing the brand's small commercial vehicle sixth in the UK commercial vehicle market and first in its segment, well ahead of the Ford Transit Connect. Transit Connect (2nd with 6,523 units) and the Peugeot Partner (3rd with 5,9912 units).

Greg Taylor, Managing Director of Citroën UK, said: "The UK light commercial vehicle market is incredibly competitive, so I am particularly proud that so many SMEs and fleet operators have chosen the Berlingo Van to support their businesses so far this year. The Berlingo Van brings versatility and affordability to fleets and professional users across the country, thanks to its efficient diesel and electric powertrains and impressive versatility".

Commercial vehicles are very important for Citroën, and the brand knows how to take advantage of them thanks to this excellent generation of Berlingo vans. With this first place in sales for the first half of the year, the brand's small commercial vehicle has every chance of remaining so throughout the year, especially as the production and delivery disruptions are about to come to an end, which should further enhance the commercial performance of the Berlingo Van and show that Citroën is far from dead.
