The Citroën Berlingo Van is once again the UK's best-selling small van for the first half of the year. According to the latest data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Berlingo Van has maintained its leading position with 6,766 units sold across the country since 1 January, a performance in line with that of 2023.

In fact, this success is a continuation of its exceptional performance last year, when it already dominated the UK small van market. Its popularity with small and medium-sized businesses is a key factor in this success, demonstrating the Berlingo van's reliability and adaptability to different business needs.

This success is further enhanced by the introduction of the new all-electric Berlingo Van, part of a revamped range that also includes the Jumpy, Jumper and My Ami Cargo Kit. This diversity of choice, combined with the possibility of fully electric configurations, places Citroën at the forefront of sustainable mobility solutions for commercial vehicles. In addition, the electric Berlingo van will be built at the UK's first electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Ellesmere Port, which will also encourage companies in the UK to buy the van and contribute to the re-industrialisation of the country.

A renewed range to continue its success in 2024

The exceptional performance of the Berlingo van could continue into 2024 thanks to the new range recently unveiled. With this comprehensive range, Citroën now offers the widest choice of electric commercial vehicles in the UK, a unique position that is expected to further strengthen its market share.

The production of the ë-Berlingo in Ellesmere Port also marks an important milestone for the brand and its ambitions in terms of local and sustainable production. In 2025, limited production of the new ë-Jumpy will begin in Luton, further strengthening Citroën's local presence. Greg Taylor, Managing Director of Citroën UK, highlighted the importance of this approach: "With the Berlingo Van also available as a fully electric ë-Berlingo Van and manufactured in the UK, we are continuing our commitment to providing comfortable commercial vehicles. and practical solutions to meet the needs of business and private customers, as well as providing accessible ways for customers to switch to electric vehicles. "

By offering environmentally friendly mobility options at competitive prices, the Berlingo and its electric counterparts, such as the ë-Berlingo, position Citroën as a key player in the energy transition of the commercial vehicle sector and the brand is capitalising on this by placing its small commercial vehicle at the top of its segment, but also in the top 10 best-selling commercial vehicles in the UK. The multi-award-winning Utility range is now reaping the rewards, which bodes well for the new C3, which has already won numerous awards in the UK.
