After rekindling the spirit of adventure with the XTR nameplate on several of its models, Citroën continues to draw from its rich heritage to energize its lineup. The brand is now reviving another iconic name, synonymous with performance and style: VTR. This rebirth is taking place in the United Kingdom with the launch of a bold special edition, the Citroën Dispatch VTR (known as Jumpy in other markets). This edition transforms the brand's versatile mid-size van into a vehicle with a strong character, featuring specific enhancements that are sure to turn heads and stir fond memories among enthusiasts. It's a proposition that aims to inject a dose of sportiness into the world of light commercial vehicles.
An athletic style in tribute to Citroën's sporting past
The VTR badge is significant to anyone familiar with Citroën's recent history. It instantly brings to mind the spirited versions of the Saxo, Xsara, and C2, cars that defined their era with their dynamic performance and assertive looks. By naming its van the Dispatch VTR, Citroën pays direct homage to this legacy. This lineage is expressed through a meticulously crafted and resolutely sporty aesthetic. The Dispatch VTR stands out at first glance with a unique body kit that gives it a powerful road presence. It includes a redesigned front spoiler, prominent side skirts with integrated front mudguards, and a rear spoiler that crowns the vehicle's tail. The look is completed by an exclusive rear bumper, designed to seamlessly integrate with the spoiler and side skirts. To ground this athletic stance, the Dispatch VTR is fitted with 18-inch "Diamond-cut Dynamic" alloy wheels, equipped with high-load capacity Nankang tires, striking an ideal balance between performance, durability, and style. This aggressive and cohesive design firmly positions the Dispatch in a world of performance, a clear nod to Citroën's return to motorsport, particularly in Formula E. However, this transformation is not just skin-deep.
Under the hood and inside the cabin: a fully-loaded LCV
The exclusivity of the Dispatch VTR continues inside, where the driver and passengers are greeted by premium upholstery. The seats are finished in hand-crafted eco-leather, proudly featuring an embroidered VTR logo and vibrant red stitching. The material is also perforated for better ventilation, combining comfort with a sporty ambiance. This eco-leather was chosen for its durability—it is resistant to scratches, tears, and wear, essential qualities for a professional-use vehicle. In terms of equipment, Citroën has been generous. The Dispatch VTR includes the "Comfort Pack" as standard, which features dual-zone air conditioning, keyless entry and start, and wireless smartphone charging. A "Winter Pack" is also part of the package, offering a heated leather steering wheel, a heated driver's seat, and front-row thorax side airbags.
Under the hood, drivers have a choice between two philosophies. The Dispatch VTR is available with a powerful diesel engine, the 2.0 BlueHDi 180, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. For those prioritizing zero-emission mobility, the ë-Dispatch VTR 100% electric version is also available. It is equipped with a 75 kWh battery, providing a combined range of up to 230 miles (370 km, WLTP cycle). Available in three striking colors (Icy White, Perla Nera Black, and Blue Lagoon starting in 2026), the new Dispatch VTR is priced in the UK from £42,745.
Greg Taylor, Managing Director of Citroën UK, stated: “Citroën is reaffirming its commitment to SMEs with the New Dispatch VTR, the new flagship vehicle in our LCV range. This exciting new van brings enjoyment and affordability to the LCV market with a distinctive sporting style, true to the heritage of the iconic VTR name.”

Following the notable return of the XTR name, Citroën continues to celebrate its history with the Dispatch VTR. While this characterful special edition is currently an exclusive for the British market, it demonstrates the brand's clear desire to stand out in the highly competitive light commercial vehicle sector. It's a testament to the fact that Citroën's LCV range is showing exciting momentum. By offering distinctive versions that break the mold, the brand proves that a van does not have to be just a generic white work tool devoid of personality. These special editions reignite passion and add a touch of style and exclusivity that will undoubtedly appeal to professionals looking for a vehicle that reflects their own image.
