Citroën in strong growth in Italy: success of the new C3 in particular

The first seven months of 2024 confirmed Citroën’s growing trend in the Italian market, marking a remarkable performance with a market share of 4.4%, up 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous year. A year-on-year increase in volumes of 28% underlines this achievement. In July, the growth in passenger car contracts was particularly spectacular with an increase of 88% compared to July 2023. This positive dynamic is mainly driven by the success of the Citroën C3, which has established itself as the third best-selling car in Italy and the second in the B segment.



The success of the new C3 is also notable, with over 5,700 orders recorded in the first seven months of 2024, 38% of which were for the electric version. This preference for electric vehicles highlights the growing commitment of Italian consumers to sustainable mobility. The Citroën C4 follows this upward trend with a 3.7% growth in segment share in July 2024 compared to the previous year. In addition, the Citroën AMI continues to dominate the electric quadricycle market with a 43% segment share. In the commercial vehicle sector, Citroën achieved a 7% market share in July, ranking fifth in the light commercial vehicle ranking.


Citroën C3 and ë-C3: Drivers of success

The Citroën C3 remains a pillar of the brand's success, consolidating its position in the Italian market. As the third best-selling car in Italy and second in the B segment, the C3 continues to attract a loyal customer base thanks to its attractive design and modern features. The fourth generation of this iconic model, with over 5,600,000 units sold, confirms the ongoing enthusiasm for this vehicle.


The New C3, particularly the electric ë-C3 version, is making an impressive start at Italian dealerships. With a price range starting at less than €24,000 and a monthly cost of €49, the ë-C3 represents a revolution in the electric market thanks to its exceptional quality/price ratio. Offering first-class comfort and an urban range of up to 440 km, this model embodies the new era of Citroën design and urban mobility. The marked preference for the electric version, chosen by 38% of customers, is a promising sign for the future of sustainable mobility at Citroën in a market where electric cars only account for 3.7%, which is to say the performance achieved by the new C3.


In the field of commercial vehicles, Citroën continues to satisfy a demanding professional clientele. With a market share of 7% in July 2024, the brand has risen to fifth place in the light commercial vehicle ranking. This performance illustrates the reliability and versatility of Citroën commercial vehicles, capable of effectively meeting the varied needs of professionals.

Quelqu’un sait si les livraisons de la nouvelle C3 vont débuter avant septembre pour les versions non électrique ? Sinon, ça va être difficile de maintenir des bons chiffres, surtout si les modèles non conformes ne sont plus autorisés après fin juillet… (c’est ce que j’avais compris, mais j’ai peut-être tort)
