While I frequently discuss Citroën's excellent results in traditional markets such as Austria, it is essential to look toward Eastern Europe. Our favorite brand is currently delivering remarkable performances in Poland, where it finished 2025 with significant momentum. Following sustained growth throughout the year, Citroën has confirmed its positive dynamic within a Polish market undergoing profound technological and structural changes.
A record year-end in the Polish automotive market
The Polish automotive market showed robust health in 2025, with a total of 667,578 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles registered, representing a 7.95% increase compared to 2024. In this competitive landscape, Citroën navigated with remarkable agility. The brand recorded 11,185 registrations over the full year, marking a significant 33% increase in sales volume. This performance translated into a 0.32 percentage point gain in market share, proving that the renewed product lineup perfectly meets the expectations of local consumers.
December 2025 acted as a powerful catalyst for these annual results. With 1,240 vehicles delivered to Polish customers in a single month, Citroën posted a spectacular 83% increase compared to December 2024. While the brand ended the year just a few hundred units behind its Stellantis siblings, Peugeot and Opel, the final sprint in December allowed Citroën to rank as the leading Stellantis brand in Poland for the month.
Paweł Bielecki, Director of the Citroën brand in Poland, emphasized the importance of these achievements:
"We are very satisfied with the results achieved in 2025 – it proves that our strategy and offers meet our customers' expectations. We expect 2026 to be equally successful, and that new models, particularly the C5 Aircross, will further strengthen our market position."
The massive success of the C3 range and electric dominance
Although Citroën’s growth is supported by an entirely refreshed lineup, the Citroën C3 remains the central pillar of this commercial success in Poland. The model attracted 437 buyers in December alone, bringing the annual total to 3,745 units. These figures demonstrate that the modern design and attractive pricing of this city car resonate strongly with a Polish clientele seeking versatility and comfort.
However, the most striking performance occurred in the electric mobility sector. The new ë-C3 established itself as the undisputed leader of the electric B-segment in 2025. With 1,907 units sold during the year, it captured a 37% market share in its category. Even more impressive is the fact that the electric version now accounts for over 50% of total C3 sales in Poland for 2025. This electric sales mix, significantly higher than the market average, highlights the relevance of Citroën’s strategy in democratizing access to zero-emission vehicles in a demanding market.
Promising outlook for 2026
In conclusion, Citroën achieved an exceptional year in Poland in 2025, significantly outperforming the overall market. The growth, which became exponential toward the end of the year, testifies to the strength of the new lineup and the appeal of the C3. By finishing December as the top-selling Stellantis brand, Citroën has proven its ability to capture new market shares. With the launch of the new C5 Aircross and the first full years of the C3 Aircross and the facelifted C4, all indicators suggest that the brand is on track to repeat or even exceed these performances in 2026.
