Citroën Holidays: the new converted van that follows the vanlife trend

Le Citroën Holidays vu de face avant

A few months after the launch of the Spacetourer Holidays, Citroën presents the Holidays, a production version that takes up the new style of the Spacetourer after its recent restyling. This new Citroën Holidays is in line with the trend for converted vans and offers a number of significant advantages, starting with a modernised style, optimised comfort and modern technologies.

Citroën Holidays will make its public debut on 13th January at the CMT in Stuttgart, one of Europe's largest leisure and travel fairs, before being launched on the market in spring 2024. The new Citroën Holidays reflects the brand's desire to strengthen its position in the world of "Van Life", which is already the second largest operator of these converted vans, but which wants to make life even easier for consumers. Citroën Holidays will therefore be available to order directly from the brand's network, with a dedicated range to be specified in a few weeks' time.

Van life in full comfort mode

Derived from the SpaceTourer, the Citroën Holidays is an adventure for a family of 4 who will benefit from the great freedom of a converted van to discover and explore the world.

With a length of 4m98, the Citroën Holidays manages to keep its length under 5 metres to improve its manoeuvrability, but above all it benefits from a great advantage with a height of just under 2 metres (1m99), which allows it to enter underground car parks and not be subject to the constraints of local regulations. To make manoeuvring easier, Citroën has equipped the Holidays with a Top Rear Vision reversing camera, which provides a 180° view of the area behind the vehicle.

These generous dimensions provide all the space you need to live as comfortably as possible in this fully equipped van designed to make family trips stress-free.

To design the interior of the Citroën Holidays, the brand turned to the specialist Bravia Mobil, which offers

  • A kitchen with a sink and 2 gas rings, a 16-litre fridge and a retractable table for family meals for 4 thanks to the sliding 2-seater bench and swivel front seats. This kitchen is also accessible from the outside thanks to the 2 sliding side doors, which can be electrically operated as an option.

  • There are plenty of storage compartments in the cabin, including a 10-litre fresh water tank and a 10-litre holding tank.

  • A rear shower with a 25-litre tank is also available, as is a removable toilet.

In addition, Citroën Holidays guarantees optimum comfort on board at all temperatures thanks to the Webasto programmable heating system, which allows you to manage the ventilation and lighting of your vehicle from a control panel. However, as a well-converted van, Citroën Holidays offers a range of solutions that allow you to transform the cabin into a lounge on wheels to discover the country with ease and freedom. Moreover, the interior of the Citroën Holidays has all the necessary equipment to accommodate 4 people comfortably, day and night. The retractable roof, which comes as standard in body colour, makes it very comfortable to live in. It allows you to stand up on board and can accommodate up to 4 beds. In fact, the bench seat in row 2 sleeps two and slides and converts into a 1.00m wide by 1.90m long bed. This bench can be removed if the customer wishes to maximise space on board. In the upper section, a bed measuring 1.15m wide by 1.95m long allows you to sleep under the stars. A cupped mattress design reduces the amount of space required while providing a comfortable night's sleep. Those sleeping in the lower section can take advantage of the opening tailgate window to get as close to nature as possible, as well as vacuum blinds on the windscreen and side windows. In the same way, those in the upper part will benefit from integrated blinds and a window in the bellows to manage ventilation and light.

Finally, Citroën equips the Holidays with a 230V external power socket and an internal 230V socket, 2 USB A and 2 USB C sockets. There is also a particularly practical wireless smartphone charger on the centre console, within reach of the two front passengers. There is also the option of a roof-mounted solar panel and a pre-positioned towing eyelet.

Cutting-edge style and technology

The new Citroën Holidays has all the features you would expect from a camper van, allowing fans of the van lifestyle to embark on their adventures with ease and excellent comfort. But Citroën Holidays also gives pride of place to technology by incorporating the new features that appeared on the redesigned SpaceTourer, which allow the brand's new van to offer up to 17 driving aids such as hands-free entry and departure, hill start assist, reversing camera with Top Rear Vision, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function or even automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, driver fatigue alert, lane assistance, collision risk warning, automatic light switching, sign recognition, etc.

Inside, the new Spacetourer dashboard includes the standard 10-inch customisable instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen that can accommodate 3D connected navigation as well as classic Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity.

On the outside, Citroën Holidays takes over the front of the new Spacetourer, including new headlamps with the brand's new visual signature and logo, allowing it to integrate the new Citroën style. You will notice that the badge presents a modification on the grille with the colour clips of the new C3, here arranged in the new Citroën signature colour, Infrared Red.

Five body colours are available, including the familiar Kaolin White, Perla Nera Black and Steel Grey, to which two new shades are added: Titanium Grey and Kapari Green.

Marketing will begin in spring 2024, at which time full details of the range will be announced. Citroën has announced that the Holidays will be available with HDi 145 diesel engines combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox or with HDi 180 engines combined with the EAT8 gearbox, allowing long distances to be covered without fear for a family adventure in complete tranquillity with simplicity and freedom in the greatest comfort. This new foray into the popular converted van segment will allow Citroën to increase its sales tenfold, especially as the order is placed directly with the brand's network, which will take care of all the procedures up to delivery, a guarantee of ease for the consumer.
