Citroën germany drops EV prices: electric vans now cost the same as Diesel

Citroën breaks the price barrier: electric LCVs at diesel rates

The global landscape at the start of 2026 remains heavily influenced by geopolitical instability. Tensions in Iran have specifically caused significant uncertainty across energy markets, serving as a stark reminder of how much our economies and transportation systems rely on oil. For professional users, this translates into unpredictable fuel prices at the pump, which weigh heavily on operational costs. In response to this energy crisis, Citroën is launching a major initiative to support businesses. Until the end of June 2026, the brand is offering its flagship electric Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) in Germany at the same price as their diesel counterparts. This bold strategy aims to protect small businesses and fleet budgets while accelerating the transition to carbon-free mobility.

A diverse range to meet every professional need

Over the past few months, Citroën has transformed its catalog to give the power of choice back to consumers. Moving away from a single technological dogma, the brand now offers a wider range of powertrains than ever before, including efficient internal combustion engines (ICE), versatile hybrids, and pure electric options. This "multi-energy" approach allows each client to find the solution that best fits their geographic and operational requirements. However, Citroën makes no secret of its ambition to place electric power at the heart of its growth strategy. To turn this vision into a market reality, the manufacturer is tackling the main obstacle to adoption: the initial purchase price gap. In Germany, this commitment is realized through an unprecedented offer in the LCV segment, proving that clean mobility can and must be financially accessible to economic players.

ë-Berlingo and ë-Jumpy: price parity between electric and diesel

The core of this commercial offensive focuses on the pillars of the commercial range: the Citroën ë-Berlingo and the Citroën ë-Jumpy. The logic is simple: eliminate the price difference between electric and diesel engines of equivalent power. For a business owner, the choice is no longer based on the initial investment, but on the actual use of the vehicle.

The Citroën ë-Berlingo, a benchmark for urban services and last-mile deliveries, perfectly illustrates this parity. In its M version with increased payload, the ICE model equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDi 130 hp diesel engine and EAT8 automatic gearbox starts at €19,990. Now, and until the end of June, the ë-Berlingo Van M Electric 136 hp (50 kWh battery) is offered at exactly the same price of €19,990. With a range of up to 338 kilometers (WLTP cycle) and a loading volume capable of holding two Euro pallets, it becomes an essential alternative to diesel. Its fast-charging capability, allowing for an 80% charge in just 30 minutes at a 100 kW station, ensures optimal operational availability throughout the day.

The same logic applies to the larger segment with the Citroën ë-Jumpy, designed for companies with higher transport requirements. Available in two lengths (M and XL) and two battery capacities (49 kWh and 75 kWh), the ë-Jumpy offers rare versatility. The Jumpy M diesel model with 150 hp and an 8-speed automatic gearbox starts at €25,490. The electric ë-Jumpy M (49 kWh battery) now aligns with this price of €25,490. With a payload of up to 1,363 kilograms and a range of up to 350 kilometers, it allows professionals to drive without restrictions in Low Emission Zones (LEZ) while enjoying the quiet ride and lack of vibration typical of electric vehicles. But Citroën goes even further by extending this accessibility to its smallest commercial model.

The Citroën ë-C3 Van: urban electric mobility under €14,000

To complete this strategic rollout, Citroën is introducing extremely competitive price conditions for the new ë-C3 Van. This vehicle, derived from the ë-C3 hatchback, is specifically designed for the agile needs of maintenance technicians or express delivery drivers in city centers. In Germany, the ë-C3 Van is now available below the symbolic €14,000 mark, starting precisely at €13,390 for professionals.

At this price point, the ë-C3 Van offers a unique value proposition. By replacing the rear seats with a permanently integrated loading extension, Citroën provides a cargo volume of 1,220 liters. It is the ideal work tool for transporting equipment while benefiting from compact dimensions (4.02 meters) that make city parking easy. Under the hood, the 83 kW (113 hp) motor is paired with a battery offering up to 322 kilometers of range in the WLTP urban cycle. Beyond the technical specs, this model features the famous Citroën Advanced Comfort® suspension and seating, ensuring that hours spent behind the wheel in heavy traffic are experienced in absolute comfort.bsolu.

A global strategy for accessible electromobility

This operation in Germany is not an isolated event but part of a broader strategy that Citroën has already successfully tested in France with its passenger car range. By offering electric models at the price of gasoline versions, the brand managed to overcome the hesitations of many private buyers. By now applying this model to the LCV sector, Citroën confirms its desire to be the brand of proximity and genuine accessibility.

By offering these conditions until the summer of 2026, Citroën demonstrates its understanding of the challenges facing business owners today: the need to green their fleets without sacrificing profitability. This offensive proves that the brand thinks of all its customers, across all segments, and reaffirms its identity as a truly popular brand: one that puts technological innovation and comfort at the service of the many, regardless of their budget.
