The month of August has undeniably been a success for Citroën, and we eagerly await the official figures for Europe, which are expected to confirm this positive trend. After several of encouraging results in various markets, the performance recorded in Greece is particularly impressive and is part of a broader strategy of reconquest for the chevron brand.
A dazzling growth in the hellenic market
In a relatively stable Greek automotive market, which saw a slight increase of 0.5% with a total of 8,191 units sold in August 2025, Citroën managed to stand out brilliantly. With 617 vehicles registered, the brand posted a spectacular increase of +207% compared to August 2024. This remarkable performance allowed it to capture a 7.5% market share, climbing 14 places to secure the second position in the Greek market. It is also important to highlight that Citroën became the leading brand of the Stellantis group in Greece during this period, a position that attests to the relevance of its new product lineup. This momentum is all the more significant as it is driven by key models that have successfully found their audience and established themselves against ever-increasing competition.
Flagship models at the peak of their game
Citroën's success in Greece is largely based on the excellent performance of its flagship models. The Citroën C3 continues to charm customers, ranking third in the overall market with 314 units sold, an increase of 163.9%. Even more impressively, it has established itself as the leader in its segment, a feat that confirms its status as a versatile and attractive city car. The Citroën C3 Aircross is not far behind, with a phenomenal growth of +462.1% for 163 units, placing it 14th in the market and 5th in its segment. Finally, the Citroën C4, with its 110 units and an increase of 161.9%, takes the 22nd spot in sales and, most importantly, the top position in the compact sedan segment. The success of these three models demonstrates that Citroën's new positioning, focused on bold design, benchmark comfort, and competitive pricing, perfectly meets the expectations of Greek drivers.
While this August performance is exceptional, it needs to be put into perspective. Indeed, August 2024 was a particularly difficult month for Citroën in Greece, mainly due to the absence of the new generations of the C3 and C3 Aircross in showrooms. The comparison with such a low base partly explains this exponential growth. Furthermore, if we look at the figures since the beginning of 2025, the situation is more mixed. With 4,936 units sold, Citroën ranks seventh in sales but records a 23.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Therefore, it will be necessary to closely monitor the results of the coming months to see if this summer performance marks a real turning point and if Citroën will manage to end 2025 on a positive note in Greece. The momentum has been set; now it needs to be sustained over time.
