Citroën has been more aggressive on the market in recent months, an offensive that is working perfectly as the brand recorded a number of historic orders from private customers in June, thanks in particular to the C3, available from 99 €/month. The brand is therefore continuing this offensive with the Berlingo, which it is offering at an electric price.
Citroën's commercial offensive, particularly on the electric C4, available from €199/month, has enabled the brand to increase orders for its electric compact sedan by 4 to 5. The brand is therefore continuing in this direction with an offer for the electric Berlingo, which it is offering at the exceptional price of €219/month, with the aim of ensuring that orders follow those of its little sister.
Specifically, the offer on the ë-Berlingo concerns the entry-level Live version with a contribution of €2,000 and all bonuses deducted, namely the ecological bonus of €7,000 (under certain conditions) and the conversion of €2,500. The Citroën ë-Berlingo Live is equipped with a 136 HP electric motor combined with a 50 kWh battery, which gives it a maximum range of 280 km. This exceptional offer puts the Citroën Berlingo in a very good position compared to its direct competitors, as both the Peugeot e-Rifter and the Renault Kangoo e-tech are much more expensive, with rental prices well over €300/month.
For example, the Renault Kangoo e-tech, in its balanced version, is sold from €340/month after deducting the €5,000 environmental bonus. For its part, the Peugeot e-Rifter is sold from 320 €/month after an initial rent of 3,400 € and the deduction of the bonus of 7,000 €. The Citroën ë-Berlingo is therefore at least €100/month cheaper than its rival French electric MPVs, a sign of the brand's new combativeness that reflects its desire to make electric mobility accessible to all.
With this exceptional offer, the Citroën Berlingo should therefore see an increase in orders and therefore sales in the second half of the year, allowing it to consolidate its lead over its two French counterparts and become the best-selling French MPV in Europe. In fact, at the end of May, the Berlingo had sold 7,945 units, up 126% year-on-year, ahead of the Renault Kangoo (6,714 units, but also available with a combustion engine) and the Peugeot e-Rifter (5,566 units + 17%). The Citroën Berlingo is followed by the VW Caddy (14,450 units, +13%), which is only available with a diesel engine.
