Launched on the Brazilian market in August 2023, the top-of-the-range Citroën C3 You! marks a turning point in the French brand's local strategy. Unlike in Europe, where the You! version is aimed at the entry level, this Brazilian version plays the high-end card with its 130 hp Turbo 200 engine and its equipment. Just three months after its launch, this version has just received prestigious recognition by winning the prize for the best national car over 150 Nm awarded by Abiauto (Brazilian Automotive Press Association).
The ceremony, held in São Paulo on 28 November, was part of the 26th edition of the Abiauto Award, one of the most traditional events in the Brazilian automotive industry. Judged by a panel of specialised journalists, this year's prize was awarded on the basis of engine torque, a choice that reflects the rise of turbocharged engines in Brazil.
A strategic offensive for Citroën in Brazil
The Citroën C3 is the spearhead of the brand's development strategy in South America, and in Brazil in particular. Since its launch in 2022, it has established itself as an essential city car, regularly ranking between fifth and sixth in sales in its segment.
The You! version, with its modern equipment and powerful engine, allows Citroën to further diversify its range. This strategic evolution will continue in 2025 with the introduction of a new engine, demonstrating the brand's ambition in this growing market.
A model designed to meet the expectations of Brazilian drivers
Manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Porto Real, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the C3 You! is equipped with a 130 bhp Turbo 200 engine combined with a seven-speed CVT with three driving modes. In addition to its engine, the C3 stands out for its spaciousness, with the largest boot in its category, and for its comprehensive equipment, including :
Air conditioning,
A 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity,
Six speakers with steering wheel controls,
Electric steering and power mirrors and windows.
The Stellantis plant, which benefits from a modern structure adapted to the most demanding standards, is planning a massive investment of 3 billion reais (€473 million) by 2030 to increase production and stimulate employment in the region.
With this first award, the Citroën C3 You! confirms its potential on the Brazilian market. Its performance, design and equipment, praised by the specialist press, are all assets that Citroën must continue to highlight in order to consolidate its positions and attract even more customers. As the C3 range continues to expand and improve, this success underlines the relevance of Citroën's approach in a market as demanding as Brazil.
