Citroën C3: Brazil's lowest cost of use champion

The Citroën C3 in Brasil

For three years now, the Citroën C3 has established itself as the indispensable entry point to the Citroën range in Brazil. It was with the C3 that the C-Cubed program truly took off, laying the groundwork for a strategy focused on accessibility and relevance for the local market, a strategy that recently culminated in the launch of the new Basalt. From its inception, the C3 was designed to be an accessible vehicle, and three years after its launch, it continues to deliver on that promise. A recent study has reaffirmed this vocation, qualifying it as the cheapest car to use in the country, a significant recognition that underscores Citroën's commitment to its Brazilian customers.

The C3 Live Pack: official recognition for reduced running costs

The month of June began on a very positive note for the Citroën C3, and particularly for its Live Pack version. The model was indeed crowned "Best Sedan" in the 2025 edition of the prestigious "Lowest Cost of Use Award," an accolade promoted by the leading Brazilian automotive magazine, Quatro Rodas. This distinction highlights a crucial reality for consumers: the total cost of owning and running a vehicle. The study conducted by Quatro Rodas is comprehensive, taking into account a range of expenses that impact car owners' budgets. These costs include fuel consumption, an essential daily expense, as well as regular maintenance fees that ensure the vehicle's longevity. Insurance, taxes inherent to vehicle ownership, and an often-underestimated but nevertheless decisive factor: vehicle depreciation, which is the loss of value over time. By distinguishing itself from its competitors on all these points, the SUV-styled sedan demonstrated an excellent balance between economy and performance, thus reinforcing its position as one of the smartest and most accessible options in its segment. Felipe Daemon, Vice President of the Citroën brand for South America, expressed his satisfaction with this recognition: "Receiving the Lowest Cost of Ownership award for the Citroën C3 is a very important recognition for us, as it reinforces our commitment to offer Brazilian consumers not only affordable vehicles, but also vehicles with low financial impact from the first year of use. This result demonstrates that it is possible to combine design, comfort, and excellent value for money. The C3 was designed to meet the real needs of our customers, and this success confirms that we are on the right track." These remarks reaffirm Citroën's philosophy: to offer vehicles that are not only affordable to purchase but also economical to use, an essential approach for emerging markets.

The C3: undeniable qualities for an evolving market

Launched in 2022 in the Brazilian market, the Citroën C3 has consistently demonstrated numerous qualities that extend far beyond its initial purchase price. The specifically awarded Live Pack version stands out with its comprehensive standard equipment that meets the expectations of modern drivers. It includes essential safety features such as stability and traction control, ensuring better road holding and increased safety. Daytime running lights (DRL) improve visibility, while electric windows and locks, air conditioning, and electric power steering contribute to daily comfort. 15-inch wheels and hill-start assist complete an already rich package. But the C3 is not just well-equipped; it also offers remarkable interior space for its segment. Its trunk, with a generous volume of 315 liters, is the largest in its category, an undeniable asset for families and urban use. The Live Pack version goes even further by offering, in addition to the Live version's equipment, a 10.25-inch multimedia center with wireless mirroring for Android Auto® and Apple CarPlay®, as well as a multifunction steering wheel. These technological elements enhance practicality and connectivity on board, making the driving experience more pleasant and intuitive. This lowest cost of use award could be a catalyst to put the C3 back in the spotlight. As the brand recently launched the Basalt, a highly anticipated model that promises to boost sales, the C3 could benefit from this momentum. Its value proposition, combining controlled running costs and comprehensive equipment, makes it particularly relevant in an economic context where every expense is scrutinized by consumers. The success of the Basalt could create a positive ripple effect across the entire range, including the C3, which shares the same philosophy of accessibility and relevance.

Quietly, the Citroën C3 continues its journey in Brazil, confirming its status as a strategic model for the brand. Even though its sales have experienced a slight slowdown at the beginning of the year, it possesses solid assets to convince Brazilian consumers. The "Lowest Cost of Use Award" is a shining example of this, highlighting Citroën's commitment to offering vehicles that are not only affordable to purchase but also economical and practical in everyday use. The C3 embodies the alliance of comfort, accessibility, and excellent value for money, values dear to the double chevron brand that will undoubtedly continue to attract a wide audience.
