Citroën C3: Best-selling car in Greece, Citroën becomes Stellantis leader in 2026

Citroën C3

The explosive success of the Citroën C3 in Greece: market leader in february 2026

The long-standing relationship between Greece and the Citroën C3 is well-established, as the previous generation of the French city car had already captured the hearts of Greek drivers. Regularly appearing at the top of sales charts, it left a solid legacy for its successor to follow. At the start of 2026, the fourth generation of the Citroën C3 seems not only ready to take on the challenge but is already exceeding the most optimistic expectations. After starting the year on a high note by becoming the best-selling car in January 2026, the new hatchback with the double chevron logo repeated this feat in February. This remarkable performance allows the Citroën brand to establish a permanent presence on the national podium, holding a solid second place in the overall manufacturer rankings.

Greek automotive market analysis and record performance for Citroën

The Greek automotive market showed positive dynamics during February 2026, with a 2% increase compared to the previous year, reaching a total volume of 10,015 registered units. In this context of moderate growth, Citroën achieved a spectacular breakthrough by recording an 84.8% increase in sales, representing 837 units delivered in February alone. With a market share of 8.4%, Citroën climbed to the second rank of the best-selling brands in Greece, just behind Toyota. This position is particularly strategic as it places the brand as the leading Stellantis brand in the country. This exceptional momentum does not rely on a single model but reflects a coherent and attractive product range strategy for local consumers.

C3 domination and the rise of the SUV range

At the heart of this success, the new Citroën C3 stands out as the brand's true powerhouse. With 601 units sold in February, representing a 50.3% growth compared to February 2025, it secured the top spot in the overall model rankings. It is worth noting that it is the only car across the entire Greek market to surpass the symbolic mark of 500 units delivered in a single month. The C3 Aircross is also performing well, ranking 12th overall in the market and holding an impressive third place within its segment with 164 units. Furthermore, other key models in the range confirm this positive trend: the Citroën C4 recorded a 30% growth with 52 registrations, while the flagship C5 Aircross remains in excellent health with a 46.4% increase and 19 units sold.

Year-to-Date review 2026: Citroën on a sharp upward trajectory

When looking at the cumulative results since the beginning of the year, the contrast between the brand's performance and the overall market is striking. While the Greek market shows a slight decline of 1.8% with 20,102 units combined for January and February, Citroën reports an impressive growth of 55.6%, reaching 1,659 units. This momentum allows the brand to consolidate its second-place ranking overall and its leadership within the Stellantis Group. The C3 remains the absolute benchmark with 1,122 units sold in two months (+16.1%), staying as the only car to exceed 1,000 sales. The rest of the range follows this upward path: the C3 Aircross reached 334 units, making a spectacular jump of 23 places in the rankings compared to 2025. Finally, the C4 and C5 Aircross showed increases of 105.3% (156 units) and 187.5% (67 units) respectively.

Conclusion: a leading dynamic for Citroën in Greece

By closing the month of February at the top of the sales charts for the second consecutive time, the Citroën C3 is following perfectly in the footsteps of its predecessor while demonstrating an even broader ability to dominate the national market. This exceptional performance highlights not only the relevance of the new model but also the impact of a balanced and competitive Citroën range. By positioning itself as the second brand in the market and the undisputed reference for Stellantis in Greece—the only brand in the group to grow so significantly—Citroën approaches the rest of the year with legitimate serenity and optimism, supported by an efficient network and a product offering that perfectly meets customer expectations.
