Citroën C3 Aircross: it arrives in Sweden

The Citroën C3 Aircross in green

Citroën is extending the commercialization of its new C3 Aircross by introducing it to the Swedish market. This strategic launch comes shortly after the model's arrival in French dealerships, signaling the brand's desire to boost its sales volumes across Europe. The new C3 Aircross, with its gasoline, electrified, and hybrid powertrains, aims to establish itself in a Swedish market particularly receptive to low-emission vehicles.

European rollout and open days for the C3 Aircross

A few weeks after its successful introduction in France, Citroën is now expanding the availability of the new C3 Aircross to all European countries, with Sweden being a significant new step. To introduce this new model to the Swedish public, Citroën is organizing an open day on Saturday, May 24th, at all its authorized dealerships across the country. This event will allow potential customers to explore the new SUV, take test drives, and take advantage of exclusive launch offers, as stated in the brand's press release. This initiative demonstrates Citroën's confidence in the potential of its new C3 Aircross to appeal to a diverse clientele.

C3 Aircross prices and powertrains in Sweden

The new Citroën C3 Aircross is offered in Sweden with a range of three distinct powertrains, thus meeting the different needs and preferences of consumers. The starting prices are as follows: a gasoline version from 218,500 SEK (approximately €19,150), a self-charging hybrid powertrain from 275,500 SEK (approximately €24,170), and the electric ë-C3 Aircross model from 319,500 SEK (approximately €28,030). According to Otto Andersson, Product Manager at Citroën Sweden, this model is crucial for the brand and a long-awaited addition to the Swedish market. He emphasizes that the space, comfort, and competitive prices of the C3 Aircross should meet the expectations of many customers, whether they opt for gasoline, hybrid, or electric. Given the strong orientation of the Swedish market towards electrification, with electric vehicle sales accounting for around 30-40% in recent years (source: registration statistics), it is likely that the hybrid and electric versions of the C3 Aircross will achieve significant success.

With the launch of the new C3 Aircross, Citroën concludes a period during which the lack of renewal of its two flagship models, the C3 and the C3 Aircross, may have impacted the brand's sales volumes. Now, with the effective deployment of these two models across Europe, and particularly the arrival of the C3 Aircross in Sweden, Citroën is positioned to regain growth momentum. The reception of the open day on May 24th in Sweden will be an initial indicator of the market's appetite for this new versatile and modern SUV.
