Citroën C3: a new turbocharged engine and a high-end trim for Brazil

The future Citroën C3 You in Brazil

After the success of the new C3 Aircross, Citroën is preparing to launch its first coupé SUV, the Basalt. But don't worry, fans of the C3, the iconic city car has not been forgotten! On the programme: a new turbo engine and a new high-end finish called "You".

A turbocharged engine for more power ans refined finish

As announced a few days ago, the Citroën C3 will soon swap its 1.6 engine for the brand new 1.0 turbo engine from Stellantis, already present on the C3 Aircross. This engine, called "Turbo 200", will be mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission with 7 virtual gears. This combination should make the C3 the most affordable turbocharged car on the Brazilian market.

If Citroën's aim is to make its vehicles accessible to as many people as possible with this turbo version, the brand has not forgotten about customers looking for a more refined style. A new high-end finish called "You" is therefore in preparation.

The Citroën C3 You is expected to have a unique look with a two-tone body, a black roof and 15-inch alloy wheels that are also black, and the rear quarter window could also be adorned with the logo of this new finish.

The interior of the C3 You will also be marked by an important development: the adoption of a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, borrowed from the C3 Aircross, replacing the current model. While no other major changes are expected to the interior, the seat covers could receive a new adornment.

In conclusion, with the arrival of the new turbocharged engine and the high-end You finish, the Citroën C3 has additional arguments to appeal to the Brazilian public, and the brand does not intend to stop there, as an electric version is also planned to compete with the very successful BYD Atto3.The second half of the year therefore promises to be full of new products for Citroën in Brazil, with the launch of Basalt and the continued development of the C3 range.
