Although the new Citroën C3 missed out on the European Car of the Year award, which went to the Renault 5, it has picked up a number of national awards. It was recently voted Car of the Year 2024 in Greece, confirming its appeal in various European markets. This award underlines the importance and interest of the new C3 among consumers and automotive experts.

Since its launch, the Citroën C3 has stood out for its unique approach to the versatile saloon segment, offering a bold design, unparalleled comfort and a wide range of engines, all at a significantly lower price than the previous generation. It has won over both the public and motoring journalists, at least outside France.

A victory in Greece against strong competition

The new Citroën C3 has won the title of Car of the Year 2024 in Greece, following a rigorous selection process by automotive journalists from Newsauto, Newsmoto and CAR magazine. A total of 33 models were eligible, from which 11 finalists were selected. The evaluation criteria included

  • Technology

  • Safety features

  • Build quality

  • Range completeness

  • Purchase and running costs

  • Environmental impact

  • Suitability for the Greek market

The Citroën C3 took first place with 110 points, closely followed by the Dacia Duster (107 points) and the Kia EV3 (106 points), while the MG3 and the BYD Dauphin rounded off the results. This award highlights the interest shown by Greek journalists in the new Citroën C3, which has conquered the market thanks to its value for money, technology and wide range of engines. Its success against established models demonstrates its appeal on the Greek market.

A significant price in a key market

The Greek car market has always welcomed the Citroën C3. The previous generation enjoyed considerable success in Greece, where it topped the sales charts on several occasions.

The new generation therefore has the difficult task of building on this momentum. The recognition from the Greek motoring press is all the more significant as the country is experiencing a change in its car market, with the rise of SUVs and electrified models. The Citroën C3, with its diverse range of petrol, hybrid and fully electric versions, perfectly meets the expectations of Greek drivers. Its updated design, characterised by an expressive front end and assertive style, as well as its exceptional comfort thanks to the suspension with progressive hydraulic bump stops and Advanced Comfort seats, make it an attractive alternative to the competition.

Greece is not an exception. The new Citroën C3 is picking up awards all over Europe, proving its success among automotive professionals. It was also praised in Spain and Italy, where it won similar awards, confirming its appeal in Europe.

This succession of awards reinforces the C3's image as one of the most relevant models in its category and illustrates Citroën's ability to offer a car adapted to everyone's needs, while retaining its core values of comfort and innovation.

With its attractive positioning, versatility and comfort, the new Citroën C3 continues on the road to success. Its Car of the Year award in Greece confirms that it has what it takes to establish itself as a benchmark on the European market. As deliveries accelerate and the electric version gains momentum, it is highly likely that more awards will be added to its already impressive list of accolades.
